The Chinese equivalent of an Asylum rip-off flick, this time of 'League of Gods'.  I've seen Nollywood trailers with better effects.

See, I thought is was a Chinese ripoff of DC Comics character Hawkman...a bad ripoff.

The birdman is probably Leizhenzi, the God of Thunder.  He was a character in the Chinese novel, Investiture of the Gods (or Fengshen Yanyi), on which the League of Gods movie is based.  He is in the lower right corner in the movie poster for League of Gods - 

In the 1975 animated feature, Chinese Gods, (which I checked on Youtube), he shows up in the opening credits - I think a loose translation of the description in German for him in the opening credits would be "aristocratic, a bold flyer and absolutely not afraid of heights".  He's one of the good guys.
