TVP martial arts movies releases

I decided to take a gamble and purchase the German region 2 DVD of Savage Five, distributed through TVP. I can certainly say that this is an authentic, licensed Celestial Pictures disc (not a bootleg). Here is a quick summary for anyone interested:

VIDEO: PAL format; 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, progressive scan

AUDIO: German DD mono, Mandarin DD mono, English DD mono

SUBS: German, English (selectable)

BONUS: Music video, German VHS film intro.

TRAILERS: Original trailer, German trailer, new Celestial trailer

RUN TIME: 91 minutes, 23 seconds

It appears to be the same quality as the Hong Kong region 3 disc, with the same minor edit. R3 included a film poster, photo & trailer galleries (which R2 does not include). I recommend for anyone who might have missed the R3 version or the completist who want the English dub/sub combo.

I'll have to admit that upon first glance of the product (and TVP website), it looked like one.

Perhaps because Germany is notorious for its bootlegs?

Seems like most legit DVDs have a grey counterpart.

It's always wise to be cautious.

Is there someone here who could list the dvds/blu rays releases of all the martial arts movies they released, with the German and English titles, please ?

I know it's a very consuming time work, but I'm very ignorant regarding the German releases, and the German titles don't help me very much if I'm unable to recognize the movies by watching the cover only...

I don't recall TVP mentioning they are releasing those two movies? Where did you get that information or is it just wish fulfillment?

I know The Cannibals (Die Wut, der Schrei und der Tod) has been released in Germany as part of that quad film boxset Die Todesbox des Kung Fu but unfortunately, it's not English friendly.

oh that was @De Ming Li that posted that. yeah, guess those were in the pipeline but it's been 4 years since they announced those titles and only Men of the Hour & The Golden Mask from that list have been to be released. So I wouldn't get my hopes up that The Cannibals or A Hard Way to Die are going to be released any time soon.

Men of the Hour has already been shown restored and is going to be the next release from TVP. So it's as good as done whereas the others on the list aren't even at the restoration phase.

TVP's been quiet but they finally announced two releases for March. The New One Armed Swordsman mediabook that corrects the frame cut errors of their original 2021 release and more importantly for me, Men of the Hour mediabook (world premiere in HD). German and English audio available.

Answered my own question, saw the rear cover , german subs only will have to stick with my original TVP release.

Are these already released and if not, when will they be available. I love the red mediabook of David Chiang's movie, it's better than the blue one, for me, though blue is my favorite color ! The first cover for Shang Li is also the best for me.

You were too excited about news to read post carefully. As @Yihetuan wrote, those are for March. It`s been years since TVP announced they were doing new scan with Filmart and was waiting for this but me too disappointed with lack of english subs. Hopefully they will be featured anyway or have to think just stay with tvp 2012 release too like Salty.

It's a shame that. I believe the original TVP release also had the English dub but my memory could be mistaken.
