Member DragonClaws Posted March 28, 2018 Member Share Posted March 28, 2018 No news yet in regards to who will be handling the action scenes for this one?. This David Hakl(Saw V) directed movie is currently filming in Canada. Plot Synopsis from Film Combat Syndicate Quote Ex-military specialist, Clair Hamilton, returns home from her tour in the Middle East to the recent news of her father's passing only to find herself at odds with her defiant 13-year-old son, Charlie. Member Drunken Monk Posted March 28, 2018 Member Share Posted March 28, 2018 I don’t think this should be in the martial arts section. From the synopsis, the film sounds more like “The Grey” than an actual action film. I’m not sure there will be any martial arts involved, despite Carano starring. With Carano being a Martial Artist, and playing an ex-soldier in the movie, there might just be some hand to hand combat etc. That said, she has been mis-used a lot in movies of late, so we will have to wait for the trailer to reveal more about the films action content. Not being invovled with the production, I cant say/comment dude, but I'm hoping thy make use of her MMA skills. I'm not expecting Ong-Bak on ice, but something more akin to the fights in Haywire?. It would not surprise me if they didnt use these fighting talents at all, it wouldnt be th first time Gina Carano's, not been made the most of. A trailer might reveal more, if it turns out to be a striaght up actioner, the thread can always be moved.

Let's at least wait until the trialer comes out, still a bit early to fully judge this one. There's also been very little in the way of stills etc, which is no bad thing. Recently requested that a few threads I started here, should be moved to the wolrd cinema forum, The Tracker starring Dolp Lundgren, beng one of the last to be moved. Member DragonClaws Posted March 18, 2019 Author Member Share Posted March 18, 2019 Thaks for posting this @Drunken Monk. Was that a woman on woman knife fight I spotted in the trailer?, while this might not be an A-Typical MA fick. Looks like its going have some sprinkling of Martial Arts action in it, a light sprinkling, if the previews anything to go by?. Looks like the kind of movie I can spend time watching. Member DragonClaws Posted May 17, 2019 Author Member Share Posted May 17, 2019 Gina Carano Kicks Ass in the ‘Taken’-esque Film ‘Daughter of the Wolf’ (Review) Link- https://janksreviews.com/gina-carano-daughter-wolf/ Quote As is often the case with these types of films, the trailer gives away much of the plot but also shows plenty of gun battles and fisticuffs, which is exactly what you want from this type of release. Quote After spending years to gain acceptance as a female in the world of mixed martial arts, Gina Carano, now an actress, was put to a different test when she recently visited Fort Leonard Wood last month in preparation for her next possible movie role.
