I thought this was a fan-made trailer at first, but no this is actually happening. SyFy Films will be unleashing an eighth official Leprechaun film next year, not counting the 2014 Leprechaun: Origins, which starred former WWE superstar Dylan "Hornswoggle" Postl as the titular character. Instead, this will be a new installment that began with 1993's film which starred Warwick Davis as the titular monster, who looks for his pot o' gold and kills those who get in his way. The new film will not bring back Davis but instead, Linden Porco (who was the body for Marlon Wayans' Little Man) will take on the role as he now goes after a sorority who are building a new house, which in turns, awakens the creature.

Ash vs. Evil Dead writer Suzanne Keilly is writing the screenplay. Mark Holton is also returning to reprise his role of lovable nerd Ozzie, who was in the original film alongside a pre-Friends star Jennifer Aniston.

Official trailer has been released and is now going to be released by Lionsgate with an R-Rating. It looks like it pulls a Halloween and retcons all of the Warwick Davis-starred sequels and the 2014 Dylan Postl-starred prequel.

The deadly, wisecracking Leprechaun is back in all his gory glory. When the sorority sisters of the Alpha Upsilon house decide to go green and use an old well as their water source, they unwittingly awaken a pint-sized, green-clad monster. The Leprechaun wants a pot of gold buried near the sorority house, but first, he must recover his powers with a killing spree—and only the girls of AU can stop him.“ (Bloody Disgusting)

It looks like the lead character is possibly the daughter of Jennifer Aniston's character from the 1992 original...that's what it sounds like in the trailer.
