Member mark187 Posted August 25, 2018 Member Share Posted August 25, 2018 Yeah sounds like it’s not that big of a deal. Hopefully production can still be getting started fairly soon so that it can still get released in 2019! It’ll be action movie of the year!
Member mark187 Posted September 3, 2018 Member Share Posted September 3, 2018 So I’ve heard that China is implementing new tax laws on films. This could have something to do with the postponement of this project
Member mark187 Posted September 12, 2018 Member Share Posted September 12, 2018 IMDb now lists Kevin Lee (Wolf Warrior) as a character named Big Dog so sounds like the movie is still on the front burner!!
Member DiP Posted September 12, 2018 Author Member Share Posted September 12, 2018 Could be commencing filming at the end of the year if he manages to complete his scenes for Mulan.
Member Mike Leeder Posted September 13, 2018 Member Share Posted September 13, 2018 As far as i know the film's production has been pushed back until next year, there were some very interesting people in talks for it! Unfortunately IMDB is not always the most accurate when it comes to facts and information ref films. For BIG BROTHER, various people added Ray Lui to the IMDB page because there was a photo of him visiting the set, and one extra on the movie added himself with a character name and bio during shooting before even Donnie's character had a name listed
Member DiP Posted October 1, 2018 Author Member Share Posted October 1, 2018 The script has already been finished so it's only a question of when shooting starts, which most likely will be after Mulan wraps. https://screenanarchy.com/2018/10/donnie-yen-talks-big-brother-musicals-martial-arts-movies-ip-man-4-and-more.html
Member mark187 Posted October 2, 2018 Member Share Posted October 2, 2018 Donnie’s really hyping it up! I just got home from a screening of Golden Job, which was great, so now I’m even more excited!
Member mark187 Posted October 6, 2018 Member Share Posted October 6, 2018 By the way, I hope Donnie returns to AD duties on this one! Maybe Benny Chan will try a collabo between Yen for the MA (big fights) and Li Chung-Chi for the small fights and the gunplay?

Member DiP Posted November 3, 2018 Author Member Share Posted November 3, 2018 What a shame. Then it could means that Don will be committing his time on shooting Sleeping Dogs in the meantime.
Member kami Posted November 3, 2018 Member Share Posted November 3, 2018 Perhaps the local Hong Kong movie industry will be strengthened by these changes. Investments from HK are under a lot less scrutiny.
Member mark187 Posted November 3, 2018 Member Share Posted November 3, 2018 Yeah, hopefully they’ll just make the project with a non Mainland investor if that’s the issue
Member mark187 Posted November 12, 2018 Member Share Posted November 12, 2018 Good news as Mike Leeder has shared his hope that the film will still go into production next year afterall!
Member mark187 Posted November 14, 2018 Member Share Posted November 14, 2018 Furthermore, Donnie says he’s in his last days of shooting Mulan and then it’s on to the next venue! So we’ll see soon what his next project is gonna be!
Member DiP Posted November 15, 2018 Author Member Share Posted November 15, 2018 Could be this or Sleeping Dogs.
Member mark187 Posted November 15, 2018 Member Share Posted November 15, 2018 Yeah DIP, I’m interested to see what he announces. In that interview with Mike Leeder he was saying that it would still be a while for Sleeping Dogs to get going but Crossfire still seems to be in limbo so maybe it’ll be a different film all together? Or maybe they’ll get one of these fast tracked despite the problems
Member mark187 Posted November 16, 2018 Member Share Posted November 16, 2018 (edited) Bullet Films Instagram has posted three consecutive throwback posts from xXx which was his last modern. Maybe they are hyping up his return to contemporary action after Mulan with hopefully Crossfire and/or Sleeping Dogs plus Flash Point 2 if we’re lucky! And Donnie wrapped Mulan finally and is headed back to HK! Edited November 17, 2018 by mark187
Member mark187 Posted December 29, 2018 Member Share Posted December 29, 2018 According to a 5 month old post by Chris Collins, he was to be involved with the production as well. I’m interested to find out if he’s still going to be with it
Member DiP Posted December 29, 2018 Author Member Share Posted December 29, 2018 I wonder which actors will be further added to the cast. Since the movie will take place in South America for the most part, I hope they can get Mark Dacascos and Ernie Reyes Jr as South American criminals on the hunt for Donnie Yen's character.
Member mark187 Posted February 1, 2019 Member Share Posted February 1, 2019 https://kinosztukwalki.pl/donnie-yen-dorwie-porywaczy-w-filmie-crossfire/ this Polish article was posted a few days ago about the movie but if you translate it, no new info is really given. Maybe they just heard about it?
Member mark187 Posted February 5, 2019 Member Share Posted February 5, 2019 https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/513692-crossfire im sure this info isn’t legit, but I can dream right?! And HK releases tend to be on Thursdays! Real talk though, it’d have to start filming promptly for an Aug 1st release and there’s no way they’d have a release set when it hasn’t even filmed yet:(
Member mark187 Posted February 7, 2019 Member Share Posted February 7, 2019 I think the China tax scandal is still holding this up. I read an article that was posted in late January, while it didn’t specifically mention this film, it said lots of productions are still in limbo and indicated that some of them might not see the light of day. Meanwhile Donnie said on Instagram that Enter the Fat Dragon and Ip Man 4 would be his 2019 releases so it sounds like that’s it

Member DiP Posted February 9, 2019 Author Member Share Posted February 9, 2019 (edited) Not even close. Danny Lee was the go-to-guy when it came to cop roles. Edited February 9, 2019 by DiP
