I've been trying to get information on this release for a while and Google hasn't helped.  Very familiar with Roger Roger and was hoping I could track down the albums these tracks were originally released under.  Another of the tracks on this reissue is well known to us...

Does anyone know the origin of this flute (synth?) melody that plays in a bunch of scenes in Born Invincible?

at 1:02:02

It's probably from some really obvious spaghetti western or something, but I don't know a lot about that genre so I can't identify it.

(Almost) all of the music in this film is from the Peter Reno's Polaris LP which was released in 1967 on the private music library DeWolfe.  The particular track you asked for is titled Submarines.  It looks it's not up on Youtube.  If you're really interested, I could send it to you.   There are two tracks on this LP, Lost World and Mont Blanc both on Youtube, which sound like something that could've or at least should've been used in a kung fu movie.

I covered this movie earlier in this thread here BTW.

An Asian instrumental cover version of this song, was used in one of the chase scenes featured in The Image of Bruce Lee (1978). But I dont know who was behind the cover?. The audio on the bootleg prints I own, didnt help when it came I-D song.

Does anyone recognise the track starting at 32:34? I'm fairly sure it's from an Italian film

How many of the tracks used in "Ways of Kung Fu" have been identified?

This past Saturday night, I watched a Japanese noir film called TAKE AIM AT THE POLICE VAN (1960) on TCM (TurnerClassicMovies). Gritty and action packed, I enjoyed this movie and am in the process of procuring it on DVD. Amazingly, while watching this movie, I recognized a number of musical cues that were used in the English dub of one of my favorite Shaw Bros movies of all time, THE DUEL aka DUEL OF THE IRON FIST (1971)

At 00:13 to 02:50

I also recognized the music used in the opening credits of the English dub was taken from TAKE AIM AT THE POLICE VAN.

Imagine...Maggie Smith in my Jackie Chan movie

Watching CURSE OF THE CRIMSON ALTAR (1968), a British horror film that manages to waste Boris Karloff, Christopher Lee, Barbara Steele and Michael Gough...

...anyway, like other Tigon horrors, it has an original score by Peter Knight that late ended up at De Wolfe and consequently lots of Shaw Brothers titles - in particular the "En garde, I'll let you try my Wu Tang style" scene in TEN TIGERS OF KWANGTUNG. Some of the tracks even found their way to UK cartoon series COUNT DUCKULA!

Here is a example
