It's likely a De Wolfe library cue.

I was thinking the same thing, I wish I could find the title for it... Sounds almost like it's from one of those Hammer horror films.

Most of the music in that film is from James Horner's score to BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS. The menacing cue for the villain is from NAVAJO JOE, by Ennio Morricone, and was later used in KILL BILL VOL. 2.

Here's are a few of Kung Fu movie soundtrack questions, I've been unable to find the answer's to.

Can anyone identify the song that starts around 1-minute 12-secs mark, in the following promotional trailer for Bolo(1979). I'm not sure who sings's the song?, or if it's in Cantonese or Manderin?. The song appears a lot in the movie, it's pretty much Bolo's characters theme song. Are the lyrics related to the characters in the movie?. Was it written and performed by the movies composer Stanley Chow Fook-Leung?. I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me out?. .

This is definitely a Cantonese song and I think it's sung by Sam Hui.

In this section of The GCDb we will be listing the various scores from kung fu/martial arts films that have been taken from other films, pop music & TV. During the 1970s and early 80s it was common practice for lower budget Asian genre films to steal scores from other popular films of the day. For instance you could be watching a Shaw Brothers kung fu film and hear the theme from a Blaxploitation film or a Spaghetti Western pop up in a sequence. This is just another reason why watching exploitation cinema is so fun. We hope you enjoy discovering...or re-discovering this memorable film music with us!

Ambush from Ten Sides aka Ambush from All Sides is in countless movies:

Quote

"Ambush from Ten Sides" (Chinese: 埋伏; pinyin: shí miàn mái fú) is a classical piece written for the pipa. "Ambush" is written in the "Wu" or martial style, and is about the Battle of Gaixia in 202 BC during which General Xiang Yu was defeated by Liu Bang. This is the same subject matter as "The King Doffs His Armor" (霸王卸甲), but is written from a different perspective.

Ernest Gold - Cross of Iron soundtrack, samples of the Captain Stranksy theme. Along with some sections taken from The Bridge House theme, can be heard in Knockabout(1979). The Bridge House theme can also be spotted in Hellz Windstaff(1979) and The Magnificent Butcher(1979).

Bitter Lemons - by Frank Rothman, can be heard in My Young Auntie(1981), Shaolin & Wu Tang(1983), The Flag of Iron(1980), Martial Club(1981). I'm sure there are other Asian Kung Fu movies from the same era, that have used this track also?.

(1983)

The theme for Spiritual Kung Fu came from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.

When the monk bestows upon Hsu Feng the the Burmese swords in Shaolin Kung Fu Mystagogue, there is a cue used from Laurence Rosenthal's score for The Return of a Man Called Horse.

The music for the rooftop fight in Exit The Dragon, Enter The Tiger is Flashback by Keith Mansfield and Alan Hawkshaw.

A lot of those awesome library cues for EXIT THE DRAGON were only on the US version, put in to spice up the fights, which mostly play sans music in the Chinese version.
