Member AlbertV Posted March 2, 2018 Member Share Posted March 2, 2018 Dark Horizons Viola Davis and Lupita Nyogo'o will be teaming up as a mother-daughter warrior team based on true events in 19th Century Africa in The Woman King. Set in the Kingdom of Dahomey, Africa in the 18th century, Davis plays the general of the all-female military unit known as the Amazons. She and her daughter (Nyong’o) together fought the French and neighbouring tribes who violated their honor, enslaved their people, and threatened to destroy everything they’ve lived for.
