Member AlbertV Posted January 23, 2018 Member Share Posted January 23, 2018 Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort Productions has signed a three-picture deal with 20th Century Fox and the first film is gearing up to be a live-action adaptation of Hasbro's mystery board game Clue. Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are in negotiations to write the screenplay. Yes, there is a 1985 film adaptation (which I absolutely love), but this will be a more modern take on the game, which someone is dead and the questions of Who, with what, and where must be answered. The 1985 film version had three alternate endings. I wonder if Reynolds' take will have the same amount or even more... https://www.thewrap.com/ryan-reynolds-star-clue-remake-deadpool-writers/

Reynolds is attached to produce and star in the film, part of his Maximum Effort deal with Fox/Disney. http://www.darkhorizons.com/jason-bateman-eyed-for-clue-remake/
Member Drunken Monk Posted September 26, 2019 Member Share Posted September 26, 2019 Look, I was fine when they wanted to remake Robocop. I didn't bat an eyelid when they decided to make a new Karate Kid. I didn't even mind when they decided to remake Point Break. But Clue!? Clue is one of the single greatest comedies (and mysteries) ever made. It's pitch perfect, has a genius cast and its gimmick never wears thin. HOW DARE THEY!? Member AlbertV Posted February 11, 2020 Author Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 Jason Bateman has decided not to take on the film and James Bobin (The Muppets, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) is in talks to direct the film. Ryan Reynolds is still producing and starring in the film. https://www.darkhorizons.com/james-bobin-in-talks-for-clue-remake/
