Member AlbertV Posted January 2, 2018 Member Share Posted January 2, 2018 The story of the 1987 June Democratic Movement, which rocked the South Korean government, and the events that led up to it are depicted in this new drama from director Jang Joon-Hwan. The film is basically a few interweaving stories with the connection being Director Park (Kim Yoon-Seok), a defected North Korean who has been hired by the South Korean government to apprehend and interrogate suspected North Korean spies during the military regime of President Chun Doo-Hwan. When 22-year old Park Jong-Chul is found dead during an interrogation, it becomes the first "domino" that will ultimately result in the shaking of the government forever. Stories involve a prosecutor for the D.A. (Ha Jung-Woo) suspecting torture from Park's men and a benevolent prison guard (Yoo Tae-Jin) and his niece (Kim Tae-Ri), the latter reluctantly helping in the eventual takedown of Park's men and her meeting with the man who would become the "face" of the movement, Lee Han-Yeol (Kang Dong-Won).
