Member KenHashibe Posted September 28, 2017 Member Share Posted September 28, 2017 Beyond Fest is coming back to the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood from September 29th, 2017-October 10th, 2017. This fest features rarely screened cult classics, new films, and appearances by the filmmakers. Highlights for me include: PREDATOR/THE RUNNING MAN (Oct 5th, with Arnold Schwarzenegger in person) JAILBREAK (Oct 7th) BABY DRIVER/THE DRIVER (Oct 8th, with Edgar Wright and Walter Hill in person) JEAN-CLAUDE VAN JOHNSON EPISODES 1 & 2/DOUBLE IMPACT (with Jean Claude Van Damme in person) And, best for last: TRIPLE THREAT: A NIGHT WITH JACKIE CHAN featuring MIRACLES, POLICE STORY III: SUPERCOP, and POLICE STORY with Jackie Chan in person (Oct 6th)! I already bought tickets for the Jackie Chan event! I can't wait!!! To see the rest of the events being shown during Beyond Fest 2017, check it out on the American Cinematheque's website: http://www.americancinemathequecalendar.com/content/beyond-fest-
Member wackiechan Posted October 3, 2017 Member Share Posted October 3, 2017 Those sound like disappointing choices, for Jackie Chan movies to be shown. "Miracles" didn't seem to be as good as I thought it'd be. I've seen "Police Story 3:Supercop" quite a few times already(at around 1992 in a San Gabriel Valley[L.A.] theatre, Tai Seng VHS video, and U.S. dubbed theatrical version). "Police Story" is still a bit overrated, in my opinion. How about any of these suggestions for Jackie Chan movies instead?: "Project A" "Wheels on Meals" "Project A 2" "Police Story 2" "Dragons Forever" "Armour of God 2:Operation Condor"

Miracles is his personal favorite movie he's made and it rarely gets shown here in the States. I've heard Police Story 3: Super Cop is a movie he's very proud of. And Police Story is his favorite action movie he's made. It isn't a huge surprise that he chose these movies, but I'm far from disappointed. Though I agree I'd love to see the movies you mentioned, I still can't wait for this event! I really love all of the movies chosen and it'd be amazing to see them on the big screen with an audience! 3 MORE DAYS!
