In this episode Shannon and Sharon sit down with Doug Palmer, a student of and close friend to Bruce Lee. Doug shares with us personal stories and anecdotes about his friendship with Bruce, including how they spent a summer in Hong Kong together and went on double dates when they both still lived in Seattle.

Doug first met Bruce Lee when he was in high school in Seattle during the summer of 1961. He first saw Bruce perform a demonstration at a Chinese cultural event in Seattle’s Chinatown and then met him later at a Japanese community festival. Doug was fascinated by gung fu and asked Bruce if he could study with him, and Bruce told him to come to the next class, and if he was still interested after the class they could talk. From there their friendship grew. Bruce Lee became Doug’s teacher and friend, having a lasting effect on Doug’s life.

Its interesting what Steve says about that one time he and Robert Lee were in London. He recounts how Robert called Wu Ngan up and met at his restaurant. Now, Wu Ngan is sometimes seen as a suspicious figure given that he 'disappeared' after Bruce died, and also because he received $55,000 from Linda. So even though he might know 'something' about what was going on in those final months, weeks and day(s), the fact that Robert would meet up with him implies he had no ill part in it. Who knows if Robert's suspicions concerning foul play in Bruce's death is based on what Wu Ngan knows...

Both Steve Walling & Charles Damiano know their stuff when it comes to Bruce Lee. It's cool to see them both share there knowledge with fellow fan's and collector's. I own a few Bruce Lee books etc, but Im by no means a serious collector like these guy's. The money Wu Ngan recieved might simply have been for his services in Hong Kong. He was also helping the Lee family during the height of BL's fame in Hong Kong.

A two-week standoff between Bruce Lee and the production ensued. Shannon Lee writes that the producers “created cover-up stories about how my father was so nervous about being in a Hollywood movie and being a failure that he was terrified to show up to set.” Lee refused to give in, and finally Warner Bros. demanded the producers use Lee’s script changes so that production could resume.
