Martial Arts T.V shows seem to have a history of struggling to go past the first season. With the exception of Walker Texas Ranger, Kung Fu, and Martial Law, though ML didnt run for much longer after the secound season. Van Damme will bounce back, he's had a few setbacks in life, like everyone else, Van Damme steals another scene, as Vilain, in The Expendables 2(2012). Wih the rest of the Expendables gang. When promoting his film, JCVD, a movie about none other than himself, he had to cancel all of his booked appearances due to the illness of his beloved dog, Scarface. Regardless of being told that if he did not attend his booked appearances his movie will not do well, his priorities were with his dog who had a brain stroke.
