Member Iron_Leopard Posted September 13, 2017 Member Share Posted September 13, 2017 This would be phenomenal. But let's be realistic. It's probably never going to happen.

It's probably never going to happen. That's what a lot of people thought when they heard Tony Jaa was going to be in Hong Kong movies. But it happened. It's also what many thought when rumors started that Dolph Lundgren, Tony Jaa and Michael Jai White would be in a film together. That also happened. Think positive @Iron_Leopard. Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted November 11, 2017 Moderator Share Posted November 11, 2017 Trailer is out, and I'll simply say, thank goodness this is a short film, so we don't have the prospect of suffering through 90 minutes of such dross -
Member rdenn Posted November 11, 2017 Member Share Posted November 11, 2017 just watched the whole 20 minutes no samo or yuen woo ping or ching siu ting in this at all they must of been behind the camera full movie http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzE0ODM1ODg1Ng==.html?spm=a2h1n.8261147.0.
Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted November 11, 2017 Moderator Share Posted November 11, 2017 I watched it as well. As much as I respect Jack Ma, I kind of feel like 'GSD' is to him what 'Glitter' is to Mariah Carey - a misguided vanity project. Didn't really enjoy the flagrant product placement, and not sure I really understood the CGI fish either. It would have been better if he'd stopped at Michael Jackson -
Member BLfan Posted November 11, 2017 Member Share Posted November 11, 2017 Wow Jack Ma dancing as Michael Jackson is embarrassing but good to see Jet Li doing action again but this short film is poor.
Member Drunken Monk Posted November 12, 2017 Member Share Posted November 12, 2017 The short film is atrocious. It’s obvious the choreographers tailored the action to Jack Ma’s abilities because it’s slow and ugly looking. The ego of it all is gross, too. The whole thing is just a messy vanity project that’s a complete waste of time and money.

Member laagi Posted November 12, 2017 Member Share Posted November 12, 2017 I'm confused... What the heck did I just watch Though, as mentioned by @BLfan I'm glad to see Jet Li back in action.
Member whitesnake Posted November 14, 2017 Member Share Posted November 14, 2017 So if someone could edit Jack Ma out of GSD, like editing Kevin Spacey out of All the Money in the World, and replace him with, well, anyone with a real martial arts background, that would be a big improvement. Or just make this a vanity production for everyone, where for a nominal fee you could replace Ma's head with a picture of your own, for a copy to take home and amuse your family and friends. At least the percussion music and ending song are nice.
Member ShaOW!linDude Posted November 15, 2017 Member Share Posted November 15, 2017 I've seen the trailer and happened to catch his "fight" with Tony Jaa (who looks like he's starting to put on a few pounds). I'm done. And that was before reading the above comments.
Member whitesnake Posted September 9, 2018 Member Share Posted September 9, 2018 Having conquered the martial world, "Jack Ma, the co-founder of e-commerce giant Alibaba and China's richest man, says he is retiring from the company in order to focus on philanthropy... His retirement [on his 54th birthday] would mark 'the beginning of an era' for him, one in which he could concentrate on charitable activities in education, a field close to his heart."
