They were also popular in Jamaica, recall seeing footage of children playing in the Jamaican slums. This was shown in a Bob Marley documentary, and the kids were all doing shapes/animal style moves on each other. They had clearly been watching some old school Kung Fu movies in the local cinema. Leung Kaar Yan's Jamaican nick name is mentioned in Top Fighter, but I'm not 100% sure what it was?. I think they called Leung Kar Yan the brigadier over the brigadier or some such name?. I liked how African Cinemas would get local artist to create movie posters for the films they screened. If they didn't get hold of an official poster to use that is.
