Jake Kesy has been cast as the villain and it looks like the villain might be mutant "Black Tom" Cassidy, who has the ability to fire concussive blasts of force or heat by using wood as a focal point, his preferred instrument being a shillelagh. The character debuted in X-Men #99 in 1976.

Here's the first official photo of Zazie Beetz as Domino

first-photo-beetz-as-domino-in-deadpool-

Rob Liefeld, Deadpool's creator, is describing the film's tone between Deadpool and Cable (Josh Brolin) like a Rush Hour tone:
“[Josh Brolin’s] such a great actor, that’s where it starts, and gravitas, and who else really is going to hold their ground with Ryan as Wade/Deadpool? That is energy unbridled, and so you’ve gotta hold your ground. When I see the two of them I’m like ‘It’s going to be comic book’s equivalent to Rush Hour’, and I don’t know if comic fans are ready for it. I think it’s going to be great.”

I gotta say, the casting for those two is dead(pool) on -they've certainly chosen well.

And Brolin is nothing if not 110% committed - that's one hard-working cat!

Sad news - an unidentified stuntwoman was killed on the set when she lost control of her motorcycle and crashed into the Shaw Tower in downtown Vancouver. She did the stunt four times but the fifth attempt resulted in the fatal accident.

Pictured: Stuntwoman killed on set of Deadpool 2 was a professional motorcycle racer who was working on her first movie

  • Joi 'SJ' Harris reportedly lost control of the Ducati she was riding on the fifth take of a driving sequence
  • The professional road racer was the first African-American woman to be licensed in the sport
  • Eyewitnesses said they did not hear the motorcycle break prior to the crash, which happened shortly after 8am on Monday
  • Ryan Reynolds and his costar Zazie Beetz had been filmed riding bikes on the set of the film back on August 8 in Vancouver
  • Reynolds sent his condolences to the family of the stunt woman killed on the set of Deadpool on Monday morning, saying he is 'heartbroken, shocked and devastated'
  • This fatal crash comes a month after John Bernecker, 33, died from injuries he suffered after falling off a 25-foot balcony on 'The Walking Dead' set

The stuntwoman who was killed on the set of the upcoming Deadpool sequel has been identified as a professional motorcycle racer from New York.

Joi 'SJ' Harris lost control of her bike while filming a sequence for the movie shortly after 8am on Monday, causing her to ram the bike into the glass-enclosed lobby of the Shaw Tower in Vancouver.

Harris was the first African-American woman to be licensed in the sport of professional road racing, according to TMZ

It was Harris' first film as a stunt driver. She died at the scene.

Harris had only just fully healed from a wrist injury weeks before her death.

'NEWS FLASH: The doc said the clutch-wrist is completely healed. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS,' she tweeted on July 20, including an emoji of a motorcycle.

It is believed she was doubling for Zazie Beetz' Domino character during the scene. Beetz and Ryan Reynolds had been filmed riding bikes on the set of the film back on August 8 in Vancouver.

Reynolds paid tribute to Harris on Monday, saying he was 'heartbroken' by the tragedy.

'Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool,' wrote the film's star in a message posted to his social media accounts.

'We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated…but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loves ones must feel in this moment.'

He closed out by saying: 'My heart pours out to them – along with each and every person she touched in this world.'

A follow-up, the stunt performer has been identified as Joi "SJ" Miller and she was doubling for Zazie Beetz when the accident occurred. It was revealed that after the four successful attempts, the throttle stick was "fully engaged" in the fifth attempt, which resulted in the action. Miller had broken barriers as "the first licensed African-American women in U.S. history to actively compete in sanctioned motorcycle road racing events."

The Workers' Compensation Board of British Columbia is currently investigating the scene, according to police. SAG-AFTRA said it has sent a field representative to Vancouver to investigate the incident.

Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter and said:
"Nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them -- along with each and every person she touched in this world."

It takes balls to do any kind of stunt, and this woman clearly had a lot of guts.

Hollywood needs to start recognizing stunt performers at the Oscars and other big awards events.

Saddening to see some member of the news media taking a picture of the accident so close up, have some respect for people.

I know Milla Jovavich got injured pretty badly doing a motorcyle stunt for the second Resident Evil film and refused to do any more afterward (I think they convinced her to ride a motorcyle in Ultraviolelt only because it was going to be all CGI.

Now that you brought up Resident Evil, let's not forget what happened to Olivia Jackson, the South African stuntwoman who lost her arm and nearly was killed after a motorcycle stunt went wrong on the set of The Final Chapter and just a few months later, a crew member, Richard Cornelius, was killed when a Hummer fell on top of him during a safety check.

Seriously, I have to agree with @DragonClaws, these people literally risk their lives and they rarely get the recognition. I know there is the Taurus Awards, but it needs to get bigger recognition.

One Armed Boxer

I checked in on this one due to Leitch's involvement, and after watching those 2 trailers, I'll now check out.

Is this aimed at 13 year old boys who have just discovered PornHub for the first time?  I remember enjoying Deadpool's appearances when I used to read comics as a teenager, and I don't ever remember him being this irritating and unfunny.  Or perhaps the humor gets lost in translation travelling across the pond, kind of like the 'u'.

Just got back from this. Critics have been sniffy. You know what? I thought it was an absolute hoot. Not to sound like a marketing cliche but they really have taken all the good elements of the first and amplified them. Admittedly how much you enjoy this will depend entirely on how much you enjoy Reynolds' constant stream of one liners, meta jokes and mugging to camera.  I laughed until I hurt at parts of it (STAY through the credits! I know everyone does nowadays but just in case). And yes, the action is very well done, lots of wince inducing moments.

Deadpool choreography is amazing, theres nothing else really like it in my opinion. One of the reasons Deadpool makes for such great fights is how hes all hands on, unlike other comic characters who shoot forces from special powers. That being said the opening scenes and choreography are fun beyond anything else and quite phenomenal. After these scenes end (highway scene in the first one, after gf dies in this one) the choreography and even Deadpool's own story take a backseat in some ways. There just becomes too much going on, I find the whole X-Force thing unnecasary and villians pretty poor too. Would anyone have actually cared if Dp capped the hothands kid in the head on intial contact? The supposedly pedophelic and cruel apartment complex isn't developed well, juggarnaut has no backstory. Some of the X-force characters look great though I must say, in particular the asian guy and the asian guy, whos names I can't remember...(what surprising choices coming from the guy on the kung-fu forum). This sequel suffers from the same faults as the first I think. That is, the it ends up just following the same generic format as other superhero movies. The movies joke about how generic this format is, but in being self aware doesn't make them any better for doing so. A better storyline could have really been made from digging through the comics and really finding something more worth telling I think. Its also not as good as the first, the small legs scene was derivative of the first and far too played out, similar jokes were made, though without as many and as clever of references in my opinion. I didnt feel like the direction or movie were as gritty as the first.

I did enjoy the hell out of it though. Can't wait for the next too.

Sorry? And I agree that some of the jokes were overly stretched out. I did like the X Force gag though.
