In Bleeding Steel, Chan stars as a creamy special forces agent who fights to protect a creamy young woman from a creamy criminal gang. At the same time he feels a creamy connection to the creamy young woman, like they met in a different creamy life.

This creamy film is directed by Leo Zhang (Chrysanthemum to the Beast). It also stars Show Luo (The Mermaid), Nana Ouyang, Erica Xia-Hou, Tess Haubrich (Alien: Covenant), Callan Mulvey (Beyond Skyline).

Bleeding Steel hits creamy theaters on December 22, 2017.

Maria Tran? Nice to see a local actress/director/innumerable other skills do well enough to be cast in a JC flick.

Makes sense though since this was (at least partially) filmed in Sydney.

This and the The Foreigner have got me intrigued, is Chan going to be some cyborg type character?. Surprised he's never dipped his toes in the sci-fi genre before.

The trailer is such a mess. All the imagery just seems to random and out of place.

Still, it looks like some classic Jackie cheese. I'm quite looking forward to it.

His recent films have all looked very different visually, Railroad Tigers, The Foriegner, Kung Fu Yoga, Skiptrace. Bleeding Steel difintely has the Jackie Chan trademark style, but it looks different to any of his other recent/older output.

Is it me or does this look like exceptionally silly fun? The whole thing has a dumb "Black Mask" vibe, I genuinely like what I'm seeing.

I felt the same exact way... right up until the guy said "What, do you think you're Jackie Chan?" :squigglemouth: Other than that, it does look like a big ball of goofy fun.

Like in Tango & Cash, when one of the cops says to Stallones character, he thinks he's Rambo.

Yeah, it's just a little too on-the-nose.

I love in THE STREET FIGHTER when the cops are talking about Junjo, and the one says "He must think he's Bruce Lee or something." But if that was a line IN a Bruce Lee movie... yeah, not so much.

Going off topic a bit more, its like when Arnie said "Get to da chopper" in the last Expendables movie. It should have been left out in my opinion, no need to referance classic one liners, from your previouse movies. Unless you are appearing in a full blown parody or comedy.

Yet to see Railroad Tigers or Kung Fu Yoga, but still keen to see this and The Foriegner, when it eventually arrives in the U.K.

I agree completely. When he said that, it was absolutely groan-inducing.

KUNG FU YOGA is a big, goofy mess that I'm almost embarrassed to say I enjoyed.

THE FOREIGNER is a very good film, but I felt like I wanted to see more of Jackie in it, as he plays second fiddle to Pierce Brosnan (who is also quite good in the film).

RAILROAD TIGERS... still can't quite bring myself to watch it. I bought the Blu-ray, but... after reading the cityonfire.com review (http://cityonfire.com/railroad-tigers-2016-review-jackie-chan-ding-sheng-trailer/) I keep putting it off. Funny thing is, @One Armed Boxer hated KUNG FU YOGA (http://cityonfire.com/kung-fu-yoga-2017-review/), but gave a good review to RAILROAD TIGERS. But the whole "lets put character bio text for everyone" thing seems indicative of an annoying film. And I am not a fan of director Ding Sheng either. While most people seem to dig LITTLE BIG SOLDIER, I find it extremely lacking, from the title on down. I just didn't get into it, and found it boring. And POLICE STORY 2013? Oh man. I wouldn't have minded there being less action than usual, if the action that was there was decent. The "fight" in the cage was so disappointing in every way. From the way it was filmed to the choreography. Yes, JC was fighting a much younger, faster opponent. Okay, so how about he fight in a more tactical way, utilizing his years of experience? No? Instead he'll fight like a scared third grader? Sigh.

I don't know man, ever since watching Julia Roberts spending a disproportionate amount of time pretending to be Julia Roberts in 'Oceans's Twelve', one of the most unfunny misguided concepts ever to be put on film, most of these other meta-references come off as harmless, even 13 years later.

The secret to enjoying 'Railroad Tigers' is to get past the first 40 minutes, after that it finds its rhythm, but I confess it was pretty uninspired until that point.

I get it, but if you're only basing that statement on the 2 Jackie Chan flicks he's directed, I'd urge you to check out 'Saving Mr. Wu'...one of the best crime thrillers to come out of China in recent years.  I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

Damn, half the movie before it finds it rhythm! Your statement, if anything, made me even more leery of watching it now. I now recall you saying that in your review. Ugh.

Oh yeah, but... remember the part with the CGI lion in the vehicle with Jackie?

Yes, those are the only films I've seen by him. Okay, SAVING MR. WU... I see that at the store all the time. Maybe I'll pick it up.

The only thing, sorry - person - I choose to remember from 'Kung Fu Yoga' is Miya Muqi.  That may sound shallow, but it's really that bad.  I've seen 10 minute pornhub videos that have better plots.

But here's the thing with 'Kung Fu Yoga', the trailers actually made it look like a kind of throw back to Chan's 90's Golden Harvest era, they gave off that kind of vibe.  The final product of course was of course quite the opposite.  Now with 'Bleeding Steel', the trailers already set the expectation that this is going to be a completely uneven Mainland style "we threw a heap of money at this, even though nobody behind the camera knows what they're doing" mess.  But...with that being said, I agree with @Drunken Monk that it looks like it could be an entertaining stupid mess of a movie, and for that reason I'll probably check it out, with low expectations.

Please do, it comes with the OAB "You'll Enjoy This or Your (Monopoly) Money Back!" guarantee.:smile

Enjoyed this trailer a lot more than previouse one's, loved the look, the guy gives Jackie when he's about slide over the counter.

Is the guy catching some rays in the green body suit, there for an SFX shot?. Jackie Chan atop the Sydney Opera House.

My guess is the guy in green is a safety spotter, there to catch JC if he starts to fall, but easily removed with CGI. I've seen this done for other productions.

Starting to see some reviews for this pop up, though I've not read any of them other than the heading, and it seems it is getting slammed. Anyone here actually had the chance to view it yet?
