Eddie Peng has been making his mark as one of the new action heroes of today's Chinese cinema and it is all thanks to Sammo Hung, who took Eddie under his wing and has made him his "godson" since they worked together on Rise of the Legend, where Peng revitalized the role of Wong Fei-Hung.

Born in Taiwan, Peng moved to Vancouver at the age of 13 and was admitted to the University of British Columbia, but he would drop out to begin a career in acting and modeling.

He played a villain in Tai Chi Zero and its sequel, Tai Chi Hero; and played an aspiring mixed martial artist in Unbeatable in 2013. Since being under Sammo's godson, Eddie has a cameo appearance in The Bodyguard and played a central hero in Call of Heroes, where he struck up a "bromance" on the set with the actor who would play his arch-rival, Wu Jing. He would also appear in both Cold War and Cold War IIOperation Mekong, and makes his Hollywood debut in Zhang Yimou's The Great Wall

In 2017, Peng takes on the role of the legendary Monkey King in Derek Kwok's Wu Kong and will appear in the war film The Great Escape.
