Member De Ming Li Posted January 19, 2017 Member Share Posted January 19, 2017 This could be like TIGER BOY, which is unfortunately a lost film.
Member panku Posted January 19, 2017 Member Share Posted January 19, 2017 Most likely an unfinished attempt at the Swordswoman of Huangjiang story based on the book by Gu Ming Dao, Huangjiang nüxia 荒江女侠 (1928). It was originally brought to film in 1930 as a 13 part series that played over a couple of years. Only the first part still survives, and a screening of it in 2003 was reviewed by Mark Pollard on the Kung Fu Cinema site which is sadly no longer there. The story has been revisited in films many times with the most popular (and available) being Lady of Steel (1970) with Cheng Pei Pei. These are a few, though I'm sure there are a few more that have been lost or are as yet unidentified: The Swordswoman of Huangjiang: Uproar At the Baolin Temple (1930) Part 1 of a 13 part lost series The Swordswoman of the Wild River: Against the Han Clan (1940) Heroine of Deserted River (1941) The Heroine (Part 1 + 2) (1950) How Fong Kong Heroine Got into a Bloody Fight on Flying Cloud Pagoda (1950) How the Heroine of Deserted River Shattered the Centipedes Militia (1951) Bandidos (1958) Lady of Steel (1970) The English text from the article on this Li Li Hua film says: Angel of the Wilderness Li Li Hua has not yet completed her two Eastmancolor Shawscope productions when she started work as a swashbuckling heroine, in the "Angel of the Wilderness" which will be directed by her husband, Yen Chuan. In the male lead opposite her is Chao Lei, who is quite handy with his fists and swords after his role in "The Swallow". In that he played a modern Robin Hood. So most likely it was started but not completed.
