Member DiP Posted January 24, 2017 Author Member Share Posted January 24, 2017 Still skeptical about this due to Wong Jing's involvement. The guy hasn't done a good movie in a long time and mostly been responsible for most of the trash coming out in Hong Kong/China these days. Hopefully, it will be somewhat similar to Colour of the Truth/Loyalty or just a good standalone movie. Let's hope.

If this turns out to be something like that, I'll enjoy it. Also enjoyed the first From Vegas to Macau (haven't seen the new ones yet), but that's just CNY fun.

Member DiP Posted March 11, 2017 Author Member Share Posted March 11, 2017 The movie will undergo re-shoots. Andy Lau won't be involved as he has just been released from hospital and will recuperate further. http://hktopten.blogspot.se/2017/03/20170309-donnie-yen-reshoots-without.html

Member DiP Posted May 17, 2017 Author Member Share Posted May 17, 2017 (edited) Cannes Film Festival poster. The initial movie release will be around December this year. https://www.facebook.com/donnieyen.asia/ Edited May 17, 2017 by DiP
Member DiP Posted July 30, 2017 Author Member Share Posted July 30, 2017 According to Moviexclusive, the release date is set to December 15. Synopsis: The year is 1963, an illegal immigrant named Ho (Donnie Yen) sneaks into British-ruled Hong Kong. Equipped with guts and combat skills, he plunges into the underground world getting into constant conflict with rivals. After many adversaries, the once good-natured man is physically crippled and turns into a monster more atrocious than all the most corrupted cops and ruthless drug dealers. Ho eventually emerges as the most powerful drug lord under the control of Chief Detective Sergeant, Lee Rock (Andy Lau). However, with the establishment of Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) by the law enforcement in 1974, Rock is forced into premature retirement. But Ho still insists he would not be stopped as he determines to become the sole dictator of the drug empire. http://www.moviexclusive.com/detail.php?c=188&desc=December+2017&p=4793&t=chasing-dragons-3686140857-2017_4793
Member AlbertV Posted July 31, 2017 Member Share Posted July 31, 2017 Does this film then have a bit of a connection Andy Lau's Lee Rock films from 1991 and 1992, because he plays the same role he did in those films? http://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=7447&display_set=eng http://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=7448&display_set=eng

Member OpiumKungFuCracker Posted September 2, 2017 Member Share Posted September 2, 2017 So, this is a triad movie? No action choreography like most Yen movies, I assume?
Member DiP Posted September 2, 2017 Author Member Share Posted September 2, 2017 Yen and his team, alongside Yuen Bun, handles the action choreography. Just don't expect anything fancy. They're aiming for a gritty/brutal approach with this movie.
