Guest peringaten
Anyone know whether the 'Artsmagic' UK dvd boxset releases of the Zatoichi, Babycart, Lady Snowblood series and the like are any good...? The rubbish paper sleeve packaging gives nothing away in the shops - no aspect ratios noted, no soundtracks mentioned, whether original or dubbed - nothing. Just some quotes about Q. Tarantino and Kill Bill - wtf! Are they worth the purchase?
Guest ToothbrushFu
I've only seen the Lady Snowblood ones out of those and they're crap transfers, so crap in fact that they make the R1 DVDs look good (which they're not, those have very oversaturated colours). So no, not worth buying when you can pick up the R1 DVDs for only a little more.
Guest Daisho2004
Artsmagic, has some of the worse transfers around stay away from them, they really didn't put any effort into the film prints.
Guest kungfusamurai
Stick with the Animeigo stuff from the US. Artsmagic is notoriously bad. KFS
