Member AlbertV Posted January 27, 2016 Member Share Posted January 27, 2016 Anyone who remembers the Ozploitation martial arts action films Day of the Panther and Strike of the Panther will know Edward John Staszak, who played the main character of Jason Blade, a martial artist who joins a secret order known as the Panthers and becomes a secret agent of sorts. The clip above shows some of the awesome skills Staszak (who also doubled as martial arts choreographer with co-star Jim Richards) had in the day. Would you believe there was going to be a third Panther film and an eventual TV series? Well, I had a conversation with Staszak's kid a few years back and the reason why there wasn't any follow up after Strike of the Panther was that Staszak had a very major medical setback and he was pretty much forced to give up martial arts. However, in the long run, Edward found a different passion: music. Today, Edward is happily living in Perth, New South Wales, where he is a professional accordion player. He had started playing accordion at the age of 8, but took the opportunity to take a break from music to do the Panther films. It looks like Edward has found his true passion but us martial arts film fans will forever remember him as Jason Blade. Here's a sample of Eddie's music today: http://www.bigskyentertainment.com.au/shows/solo-singers-solo-musicians/eddie-staszak-accordionist/ .
