Are you talking about the 1988 film directed by Lau Kar-Wing about a Triad family? It's not that bad of a film, but not exactly great either. It basically revolves around a Triad family in which the head is contemplating retirement and a rival boss decides to start a war. The soon-to-be retired boss has a reliable friend who is a hitman, played by Alan Tam and has a few good sons who aren't directly involved in the family business, played by Andy Lau and Max Mok.

Even thought Lau Kar-Leung is credited as the action director, he resorts to more modern warfare (gunfire) than fistacuffs. But the fistacuffs aren't too bad for this brand of film. It's okay for maybe a one-time viewing unless you are truly a hardcore Lau Family fan.

O Chun-Hung (aka Ko Chin-Hsiung) played Andy and Max's father, the benevolent and soon-to-be retired Lung Ying, and Ku Feng plays the villainous rival who plots with William Ho and Norman Chu (or Tsui Siu-Keung as many know him by) to start a war with O and his family.

If Ku Feng, O Chun Hung and Norman Tsui are in it, and though I'm not really in triad movies, I need to watch this !
