Member AlbertV Posted January 4, 2016 Member Share Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) First, before we get into this thread, I would like to dedicate this thread to the memory of Hon Chun, a longtime member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team since 1987. He passed away on December 23, 2015 after suffering from muscular dystrophy for the past few years. He was 53 years old. For those who love seeing Jackie's films old and new, who are your favorite members of the JC Stunt Team, the Sing Ga Ban, past and present? Here is my current list: Brad Allan Ken Low William Duen (many in the West will know him as the taxi driver Chris Tucker had issues with in Rush Hour 2 and later, he blasted Chan and his wife, who he blames for practically being "fired" from the stunt team) Nicky Li - longtime leader of the team. He is perhaps responsible for training (for films) Nicholas Tse and Andy On in martial arts for their film debuts. On's film debut was actually Looking for Mister Perfect, which was shot before Black Mask 2. Benny Lai -the superkicker from Police Story 2 and older brother of JC Stunt Team member Rocky Lai. Andy Cheng - 'nuff said US Seals 2 and The Rundown ring a bell? Edited January 5, 2016 by AlbertV
Member AlbertV Posted January 5, 2016 Author Member Share Posted January 5, 2016 Notable members of the JC Stunt Team: Christopher Chan Chan Man-Ching (Jackie loaned him out to Japanese director Ten Shimoyama for Kane Kosugi's Muscle Heat as action choreographer and he even appears in the film as a Muscle Dome opponent for Japanese wrestler Yoshihiro Takeyama) Sam Wong (Jackie loaned him out to Japanese director Ten Shimoyama for Kane Kosugi's Muscle Heat as action choreographer; and Sam actually has a dance background and a 2003 film "Give Them a Chance" is based on Sam's life with Andy Hui playing Wong himself as he started a dance team. The film had a Breakin' like theme to the story and the real dance team would eventually become backup for Andy Lau's tour. Lau appeared as himself in the film) Anthony Carpio Rocky Lai - younger brother of JC Stunt Team member Benny Lai Johnny Cheung - younger brother of kung fu actor John Cheung Chris Lee Yamson Domingo (Police Story & Thunderbolt) Wu Gang (took on the role of JC Stunt Team leader after Nicky Li's departure in 2010. Personally trained Jaden Smith for The Karate Kid remake) He Jun - current leader of the JC Stunt Team. Assisted Jackie as main fight choreographer on both Chinese Zodiac and Police Story 2013. Lou Keung - appeared on the Hong Kong episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation series on Travel Channel. He choreographed a fun fight scene with Bourdain followed by having a big hot pot lunch with Bourdain and other stunt guys. Paul Anderovski - 2nd non-Asian stunt team member, also Australian-born. After 2003's The Medallion took a break but returned to the stunt team for 2009's The Spy Net Door, doubling villain actor Magnus Scheving. Chan Tat-Kwong Max Huang - one of the newest members of the stunt team, debuting in Chinese Zodiac and has appeared in Police Story 2013 and Dragon Blade.

Member AlbertV Posted January 14, 2016 Author Member Share Posted January 14, 2016 Even Jon Foo, who is taking the role originated by Jackie Chan in March's Rush Hour series was a short-lived member of the JC Stunt Team. Jackie helped cast Jon in the film House of Fury, which Chan produced. Foo also did stunts on The Myth. Would it be a surprise if Chan may have put in a word for Foo to play his role in the series???

Member Mike Leeder Posted June 20, 2017 Member Share Posted June 20, 2017 for Jackie's Stunt Team events in Beijing & Shanghai the new book listing the STUNT TEAM members over the years The problem is there have been a lot of people listing themselves as stunt team members when they weren't...people may have worked on jackie's movies, but it doesnt necessarily make them members of the stunt team
Member AlbertV Posted June 22, 2017 Author Member Share Posted June 22, 2017 (edited) Photos from the 40th Anniversary event From HKSAR Film No Top 10 Box Office The Jackie Chan Stunt Team's 40th anniversary took place yesterday at the Jackie Chan art center in Beijing. Jackie Chan led the 1st to 8th generation, several dozens of members to a hand printing, tree planting and creating a plaque with the words, "loyalty, filial piety, chastity and righteousness". He also established a foundation in the name of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team. Jackie Chan wanted to honor the stunt team's contribution to action kung fu films during the anniversary event. Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Frankie Chan Fun Kei and Timmy Hung Tin Mng attended. Artist friends Zhang Guoli, Tony Jaa, Eddie Peng Yu-Yan and Jiang Wen sent videos to congratulate him. In the 10 minute video, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Yuen Biao, Feng Xiaogang and Sammo Hung Kam Bo talked about the Jackie Chan Stunt Team's past. In the documentary late members of the team including Fung Hak On were mentioned. Tsang Chi Wai was teary eyed after watching. He felt proud of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team and hoped Jackie Chan would continue to spread the Jackie Chan Stunt Team kung fu around the world. Chi Wai said, "I used to call him Jackie Chan or Big Nose, now I call him Big Brother very respectfully." Chi Wai also said that earlier after an all night shoot he took a flight to Beijing. Huang Lei and Sun Honglei bowed to him as soon as they saw him. Actually they watched a Mainland program on which Jackie Chan talked about the Jackie Chan Stunt Team and were touched. A fan presented the first generation Jackie Chan Stunt Team leather jacket and 90's tee shirt to Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan returned the favor with the latest Jackie Chan Stunt Team tee shirt. Jackie Chan said that he spent a year to prepare the event in order to honor the Jackie Chan Stunt Team's behind the scene effort and contribution. Would his son Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming) succeed him? Jackie Chan said that his son wanted to operate his business and would not be able to take over. The Jackie Chan Stunt Team would. Last year he founded a Jackie Chan Stunt Team foundation. Jackie Chan revealed that Cho Ming's new record will be released in the summer, but denied that Cho Ming and Ouyang Nana were dating. They were reported only because of their fame. He admitted that he had dinner with Nana and praised her character. Jackie Chan also said that Chan Fun Kei has already recovered and has been working for him. Currently he is busy with the CHINESE ZODIAC 2 pre production work. This was a video from a few months ago, remember someone posted it, but this being a thread on the Stunt Team, thought I'd re-post it here: Edited June 22, 2017 by AlbertV

Member J.J. Hayden Posted April 30, 2022 Member Share Posted April 30, 2022 (edited) I've finished putting together the list of all 76 “Official Members” of the world famous Jackie Chan Stunt Team, 成家班. I am aware that some familiar faces are missing, but this is the official list released by Jackie Chan. Some of stuntmen people have known as members only worked with the team but never became official members and at least one person was apparently removed, guess which person. I will list: their name as it appears on HKMDB, so people can easily find the variations (and some other useful stuff) there, with the exception of any missing ones which I will add here; I'll list which generation of the team they were from; and their member number. I'll also add a picture of each member where possible, but some will only be a caricature from the team poster, as some members I couldn't positively ID in any photos and some only had pics on FB. As I'm not sure how many images I can put in one post, I'll pace it and split it into a post per generation. But first, thanks to @String who helped me out with some Chinese script. 1st Generation #1 – Jackie Chan 成龍 1st Generation #2 – Wang Yao (5) 王耀 1st Generation #3 – Man Lee-pang 谢见文 1st Generation #4 – Peng Kang 彭剛 1st Generation #5 – Fung Hak-on 馮克安 [RIP] 1st Generation #6 – Danny Chow Yun-kin 周潤堅 [RIP] 1st Generation #7 – Paul Wong Kwan 王坤 1st Generation #8 – Benny Lai Keung-kuen 黎強權 Edited February 21, 2023 by J.J. Member J.J. Hayden Posted April 30, 2022 Member Share Posted April 30, 2022 Well, that's the lot. It took quite a bit of time to get all this together but it was worth it I reckon. There is currently a 9th generation including the likes of Wei Guo-jun, but their identities' are not yet public and full confirmation has not yet been released. It is apparently meant to come soon, so if it does I'll try to get as much as I can posted on here. If anyone can help fill in the missing photos, I'd greatly appreciate it. Hope this is useful for people Cheers
Member J.J. Hayden Posted February 23, 2023 Member Share Posted February 23, 2023 (edited) I've updated my “official Jackie Chan Stunt Team members” list, as there has been an new version (yet again!!!) in JC's latest biography “I Am Jackie Chan”, released in China on 21st September 2022. Not only does it change the order of the earlier 76, there is also one interesting edition to the 1st generation, then we have a bunch of new additions, bringing the total to a nice round 100. At first I was going to simply re-arrange my existing list, but due to changes early on in the list order, it would mean changing basically all of them around back&forth etc., which would be much more of a pain than just posting a new list. This might also be better in that people will be able to see just how the list has changed. UPDATE: Sadly Thorsten has revealed himself to be an unethical prick and defamed me publicly, claiming that only he has made any real contribution to researching the JC Team and any other lists are stealing "his" works. So I will no longer be helping him. I will leave the credit here though as despite his lack of ethics, he did do some good research. If you're interested in more detail, go to this post on my own thread: Thanks to Thorsten Boose who's also done great research on the team, it was his site that alerted me to the release of the updated list, including members of which I knew nothing of at the time. I did a bit of sleuthing myself with the new names he provided but couldn't find a great deal yet, they have been (and are currently) working on projects but nothing major involving JC himself has been released. Please check out his site, you'll find a bit more info on each entry than what I included. But also check out the rest of the site for some great articles on Martial Arts cinema in general and especially Jackie Chan. He's done some excellent research. Cheers mate. http://www.thorstenboose.de/en/2019/09/21/jackie-chans-stunt-team-members-from-1976-to-today-in-a-complete-overview/ Same as last time: I'll use the names from HKMDB (where possible), show which generation they're from and their (new) member number. I've also managed to track down some more missing Ids of previous members, some are still missing so I'll keep the caricatures from the previous list and use a JC logo for the new members that I can't ID yet. Enjoy!!! The First generation of official Jackie Chan Stunt Team members (note that JC himself has been removed [given Big Brother status] and an interesting addition has been made): 1st Generation #1 – Wang Yao (5) 王耀 1st Generation #2 – Man Lee-pang 谢见文 1st Generation #3 – Peng Kang 彭剛 1st Generation #4 – Fung Hak-on 馮克安 [RIP] 1st Generation #5 – Danny Chow Yun-kin 周潤堅 [RIP] 1st Generation #6 – [Team Leader] Paul Wong Kwan 王坤 1st Generation #7 – Mars 蒋荣发 1st Generation #8 – Benny Lai Keung-kuen 黎強權 1st Generation #9 – Frankie Chan Fan-kei 陳勳奇 Edited April 11, 2023 by J.J.
