Member Jadedragon61 Posted November 23, 2015 Member Share Posted November 23, 2015 Am currently watching this. One of his better ones - not that I am an expert on Dragon Lee. Interesting that if not for the second poster, below, this would not be Brucplotation, as it's just really an historical deal.
Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted November 23, 2015 Moderator Share Posted November 23, 2015 While Dragon Lee often riffs on Bruce Lee's mannerisms in his movies, in terms of pure Bruceploitation fare, the majority of his output is mostly original with no connection to Bruce Lee or any of his movies. It was the overseas distributors that re-marketed them with the blatant Bruce Lee connections. Of course he has some ('Last Fist of Fury' and 'Clones of Bruce Lee' immediately spring to mind), but especially when you factor in his 90's gangster movies, he definitely had the longest career of any of the imitators. The movie you're referencing here was also know as 'The Five Disciples' - http://www.kmdb.or.kr/eng/vod/vod_basic.asp?nation=K&p_dataid=03220
Member Jadedragon61 Posted November 23, 2015 Author Member Share Posted November 23, 2015 Thanks for the info, as I really don't know too many of his flicks. Also, the translation you give, "The Five Disciples", is correct for the Chinese poster above.
