Member Cognoscente Posted May 9, 2021 Member Share Posted May 9, 2021 He's my favourite of the indie directors. He had more concepts than Ng See-Yuen and Lee Tso-Nam put together.

Was about to ask @Irongod2112 the same thing. If there are plans for vol. 2, The Swordsman of all Swordsmen should definitely be on there.
Member Super Ninja Posted March 11, 2023 Member Share Posted March 11, 2023 A few more recent photos of director Kuo, some taken in 2015. You might enjoy seeing Jack Long here as well, so good to see them still get together.
Member ShawAngela Posted March 11, 2023 Member Share Posted March 11, 2023 Questions : 1) Who are the other three on the first picture and the guy who holds the boxset with Joseph Kuo ? 2) Does anyone know the title of the movie on the dvd that he holds in both pictures ? Is it the same dvd ?

Not sure if that's a DVD, but the movie in question is Take Care, Sir (1964), Kuo's critically acclaimed box-office hit and one of the 23 Taiwanese dialect movies he made in the second phase of his career. Frank Djeng said all of those are now lost and claims there were 24 actually. https://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=13435&display_set=eng

That looks like Tsai Hung in the Jean jacket in the first pic ( the guy that fought Ti Lung during the final battle in Five Shaolin Masters .)
Member saltysam Posted March 13, 2023 Member Share Posted March 13, 2023 I see @GOLDEN DRAGON YIN-YANG started this thread. Wherever did he get to?

Hasn't been on for two and a half years. He was pretty old, like in his 70's, and only had access to the internet via his local library. Hope he's ok, but doubt he'll come back.

I believe you're right @HeavenSword, thanks. He was in a couple of those early swordplay films Kuo directed, that explains their connection.

Not sure of the current status on a Vol. 2 but contact with Joseph Kuo was made and he does still own the rights to a number of his films and was up for making a deal so it's quite possible we get some more titles or another box set in 2024. 4

That would be amazing. I support all the new releases we are getting but the more 70’s Fu the better!

Making contact alone shows you're doing God's work! Thank you so much for working on these films!
Member Beardys Feather Posted March 15, 2023 Member Share Posted March 15, 2023 Fantastic to hear! 70s indies are the best of all, let's be honest! I'd love to see the Mark Long and Jeannie Chang romance in Winter Blossom (1981). The Ghost Face Killah just needed to be loved.
