Member ShaOW!linDude Posted November 6, 2015 Member Share Posted November 6, 2015 The more I see of Chinese TV shows, the more I think they contain better old school choreography than all the new movies coming out of China.
Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted November 7, 2015 Moderator Share Posted November 7, 2015 The more I see of Chinese TV shows, the more I think they contain better old school choreography than all the new movies coming out of China. This is pretty much fact. Chinese TV shows have delivered solid old school choreography for many years, even dating as far back as the 80's. A mix of audience expectation and budget limitations has meant that the formula for these shows has rarely changed much through the years, and as the kung-fu movie became less popular many of the most well known performers went into (or started off in) TV - Gordon Liu, Lo Meng, Wu Jing, Moon Lee, Fan Siu Wong, Yuen Biao - all have some solid TV work on their resumes. For recommendations, the resident in-house expert is no doubt @rdenn.
