I would call him the "Hybrid Venom" as his character trained in elements of each style He is what I would call the Jeet Kune Do Venom.
Member venomsreviews Posted May 4, 2022 Member Share Posted May 4, 2022 (edited) I was thinking about other interview that I watched so I thought I’d share more about Chiang Sheng on this lovely thread. The first one has to do with his friendship with Lu Feng! Lu Feng mentioned he lived right next to Chiang Sheng while they worked at Shaw Brothers. Chiang Sheng loved beer and Lu Feng has always loved Coca Cola. So after dinner, the two of them would meet up with their six packs. Chiang Sheng would drink his beer and Lu Feng would drink his Coca Cola. Both of them would just spend time together and chat with each other throughout the night. He said they had a lot of laughs while they sat around. It sounded like they had a lot of fun! The second comes from a video with Suen Shu-Pau! He was classmates with Chiang Sheng at the opera school. He discussed how Chiang would often be talking and laughing whenever he was with his friends. He was genuinely a happy person. Although Suen Shu-Pau mentioned he kept a lot of problems to himself. He went on to describe Chiang’s martial arts skills as being superb, noting that all of them were pretty good but Chiang Sheng was very special. The third is also from a video with Robert Tai! Chiang Sheng was actually his godbrother. They first met in 1965 (according to Robert), when they were in the opera troupe. He said Chiang Sheng was a very reserved person and said the same thing as Suen Shu-Pau, that he kept all his problems and strife to himself. Sadly, Chiang’s mother died when he was young and his father was trying to provide for a lot of children. So, his father went to work in Taipei while the children were left in Taichung. Although eventually the children split and they didn’t reunite until a lot later. Chiang Sheng was left to fend for himself and had to make his own money. Robert got along very well with him. In fact, Chiang Sheng would come live with them after Robert’s mother took him to be her godson. So the two of them were together constantly. Robert even said that Chiang got better treatment than him! Until they left for Shaw Brothers, he was still staying with Robert. After that, Chiang Sheng became Chang Cheh’s assistant director. Member venomsreviews Posted May 8, 2022 Member Share Posted May 8, 2022 I’m not sure what the English name of this series is or if it has one, but I know it by the name 黃金孔雀城. You can find it on the TTV channel on YouTube! I can provide the link to it if anyone is interested. I found Chiang Sheng’s character to be very intriguing.

I have to say, the hair, clothes, and makeup are totally different from how we usually saw him on screen ! I am still not quite sure how I feel about the movie, even though I’ve watched it a few times. I did think his character was intriguing, though. He did an excellent job!
