The film would follow Australian stuntman Grant Page going to Hong Kong to learn more about kung fu, and to find who would succeed the late great Bruce Lee as Asia's top martial arts star. He might know where a theatrical print might reside.

Brian Trenchard-Smith, is much more open about seeing it, than some people are. When the rare madnerin version comes up, its either a fabricated VHS related story. Where some fan meets a friend, who had a cousin, who's oler brothers owned a copy. Or its long term fans, talking about their experiences back in the 70's. Quite posible, the prints sent to Australia in the 70's, varied from other international versions?. It wouldnt surpise me if prints circulated round, in higher up collectors circles. Where people have a bigger budget to spend on a 35mm version of a rare film print.

Member DragonClaws Posted September 7, 2019 Member Share Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) Quote Lee only signed one film as director but he is as much auteur of his films as a great comedy team is of theirs. You can see his mark in the staging of action, the casting and even in aesthetic decisions made for non-action scenes. It is easy to pick out which scenes in his early films were not directed by Lee because of their lack of dynamism and reliance on cheap corner-cutting techniques. As he grew older he would probably have become primarily a director, and we are all the worse for not having decades of Bruce Lee films to enjoy. - Brian Trenchard-Smith Edited September 7, 2019 by DragonClaws
Member DragonClaws Posted June 17, 2021 Member Share Posted June 17, 2021 Does anyone know if director Brian Trenchard Smith interviewed anyone on the subject of Bruce Lee?, while he was filming his Kung Fu Killer's documentary?.
Member Cognoscente Posted June 20, 2021 Member Share Posted June 20, 2021 I seem to recall Brian interviewing Andre Morgan. Brian once had a magazine called The World of Kung Fu.

Member Cognoscente Posted June 22, 2021 Member Share Posted June 22, 2021 About the below magazine, Brian's visit to the Shaw studio had to have been before October '73 because that month marked the publication of a Hong Kong Movie News issue featuring photos of Supermen Against the Orient. As for the reference to the pre-production of The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires, that was filmed between October and December (according to Chris Fellner's The Encyclopedia of Hammer Films).
