It’s now a bona fide tourism hotspot. Visitors typically bus in, tour the temple and monastery grounds, walk around the Pagoda Forest, and bus out. “If you don’t stick around and explore, you can easily be underwhelmed,” sadds Matuszak. “But Shaolin is the place to see real kung fu.
