Member AlbertV Posted October 6, 2015 Member Share Posted October 6, 2015 In 1993, martial arts film fans were introduced to Reese Madigan when Seasonal Films' American Shaolin was released by Academy Entertainment as King of the Kickboxers II. Madigan shined as Drew Carson, the first American to be accepted into the Shaolin Temple after a humiliating defeat at the hands of the pompous Trevor Gottitall. Madigan was a stage actor who hailed from New York and it helped that he was a black belt in the art of Shotokan Karate when he auditioned for and eventually won the role of Drew Carson. It would be his only martial arts film as he would focus mainly on stage acting. He did make the occasional TV appearance and appeared in a 2011 drama, Last Ball. A few years ago, he was invited to Berlin to attend a martial arts movie festival, where he gladly went and talked about his only martial arts action film. Here is Reese today...I learned that he actually hailed from right next to my hometown as he graduated from Hastings High School in 1986. That's actually pretty cool.
Member Cognoscente Posted May 9, 2021 Member Share Posted May 9, 2021 I'm surprised that he didn't do much in the way of movies or even TV.
