Guest strutr74
Shoot man, how can you pick one from that list? Some amazing movies listed there, for real. The Mifune movies, forget about it. Anyone of those listed are top Billing. you have 2 movie that are the same. ASSASSINATION =ANSATSU if you can only pick 1, get a Mifune movie, My fave of the lot is SAMURAI BANNERS
Guest SilentJay32
I second that, but at the same time The Mysterians is a great 50s tokusatsu flick by the creators of Godzilla. It's War of the Worlds, Japanese SF style.

Guest KevinClo
Samurai Banners would be a good one to get. It is based on the Furin Kazan story which is about the warlord Takeda Shingen and his loyal general Yamamoto Kansuke. It is easy to get into and follow with great action. Swords of Vengeance/Fall of Ako Castle is a good telling of the 47 Ronin story that has been filmed some 150 times. This one is better in the action department than the rest since you don’t have to wait until the very end to see some good action scenes. Ansatsu is my favorite of the bunch. It is a bit more complicated than the rest so it may not be as easy to get into for a lot of people. It is based on some real history in the early 1860’s dealing with two characters: Hachiro Kiyokawa (played by Tetsuro Tamba) and Tadasaburo Sasaki (Isao Kimura). A lot of the movie is spent trying to figure out the character of Hachiro Kiyokawa and where his true loyalties are really at regarding the Shogunate or the Emperor. On the other hand, Tadasaburo Sasaki is assigned to kill him. He spends most of the movie trying to figure out Hachiro and what his weaknesses are in all areas of his life. Hachiro has a very fast sword draw that looks impossible to beat, but then something is noticed and then the filming gets all creepy. Lol. Filmed in black and while, it is a little like Samurai Spy since it was done by the same director
