He was a very controversial person in his day speaking up and defending his views to the death. One of his greatest films which was thought to be lost/destroyed after his death was Yukoku: The Rite of Love and Death. It is a 30 minute black and white short film showing the heroic patriotism and ultimate sacrifice of a warrior. A young Army Officer seeks an Honorable Death after a failed coup d'état and his Beloved wife follows him with unusual aplomb.
