I hadn't seen this for so long I entirely forgot it was in black and white! One of Mifune's best performances and I guess it's the same director who filmed Sword Of Doom a few years later. Started watching A Female Yakuza Tale but threw in Samurai Assassin instead, though this film looks pretty damn entertaining. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Great movie, with some awesome cinematography and images of snowy settings and combat. It was grim, but I didn't find it to be as much of a downer as Sword of Doom.
