Member kaleyboy Posted January 20, 2012 Member Share Posted January 20, 2012 My fave is definitely Shaolin Vs Lama. It has fantastic choreography, and is just shapes heaven. Last year I was lucky enough to be part of the group of fans that paid their own hard-earned-cash to finally make a proper widescreen version available. SMK
This is such a hard question to answer. I do not know if I can pick just 1 movie as a favorite. I am a bit biased as I love any movie having to do with Shaolin, and I want to say my all time favorite is The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. The story, the training, and of course Gordon Liu. Member dadadove Posted January 21, 2012 Member Share Posted January 21, 2012 It would be easier to recommend movies to you if I (we) knew what sorts you already had or maybe people you like the most.
Member DongFangXu Posted January 22, 2012 Member Share Posted January 22, 2012 My total favorites are and probably will always be: Warriors Two Duel To The Death A Chinese Ghost Story And for SB films: Legendary Weapons Of China I don´t know if I can put here any good reason why I love these films that much but the truth is that these are the films that give me all I have ever expected from the genre and they cover it all - traditional kung fu and little bit of comedy in Warriors Two and Legendary Weapons..., wild swift swordplay, ninja intrigues and great sets in Duel To The Death and nice fantasy with bits of horror and sometimes slightly erotic mood in Chinese Ghost Story. Also each of the films have their own specific atmosphere which plays also a big role in why I like them so much. Also the cinematography in these films is great and soundtracks very suitable. They have no weak point for me and no slower or boring places. They are my absolute 100% films. If we could include here also new wave stuff I would add a few more films. Member Morgoth Bauglir Posted February 19, 2012 Member Share Posted February 19, 2012 Chow is pretty awesome in those 2, but I have to go with A Better Tomorrow as his best. He totally stole the show from Ti Lung. My fav kf movie is Legend of a Fighter. Superb action and acting, some great comedy, and an ending that will cause the strongest of men to cry. While it's always heartening to see Tiger on Beat getting MUCH needed love, I have to agree with Morgoth...the Better Tomorrow series is def top tier CYF (though I will debate "He totally stole the show from Ti Lung" bit LOL

Ti Lung was damn good. That scene where they see each other for the first time since Ti Lung got out of jail, it gives me chills every time I see it. Tommy Lee is the man for sure. I love Phantom Kung Fu, I haven't seen it in years. It had some very funny dubbed lines in there from what I remember. I need to watch this one again. HCV and IKFM are also top films!
Member RyanWheeler Posted May 25, 2012 Member Share Posted May 25, 2012 As most of the others have stated it's very difficult to name only one film with so many gems out there. Off the top of my head (although I'm sure I'm leaving out so, so many) I can name two that I love. "Last Hurrah for Chivalry" and "The Avenging Eagle".
