SMK
DESCRIPTIONA man who needs no introduction, the master choreographer and director, Yuen Woo Ping. There is a 99.9% chance that you've seen a martial arts movie that YWP had a part of, and the fact that he was a part of it, means there's even a greater chance that the action was top notch! This is a must see interview, that is if you haven't seen it already. Member MarsHarmony Posted March 29, 2011 Member Share Posted March 29, 2011 The Yuen clan are true legends, and their dad Simon Yuen is a legend all on his own as well. The interview looks like it was filmed prior to The Matrix film series, but Yuen Woo Ping hinted that that was his next direction to go into, science fiction. In part one, YWP discussed wanting a Shaw star for Snake in the Eagles Shadow, and a well circulated rumor was that Yuen wanted Fu Sheng for the film, but of course Shaw contracts were pretty ironclad for most of the big stars. YWP also talked about The Buddhist Fist and Iron Monkey, two of my favorite non-Shaw films. Yuen Shun Yi, Yuen Cheung Yan and Brandy Yuen are frequently seen as extras in the late 60's and early 70's Shaw movies, and sometimes you can spot Yuen Woo Ping himself. Great find, thanks for sharing it with us.
