Member Michael L. Posted January 12, 2011 Member Share Posted January 12, 2011 What makes an awesome Japanese movie? Samurai? Ninja? Monsters? Well, as long as sound and color aren't on your list, check out Goketsu Jiraiya (Jiraiy the Hero), a silent 1921 film about Japanese folk hero Jiraiya, a ninja who uses toad magic. Fights+SFX transformations+giant ass toad attack= awesome. http://www.archive.org/details/GoketsuJiraiyajiraiyaTheHero1921

Member Michael L. Posted January 12, 2011 Author Member Share Posted January 12, 2011 You wanna get your ass kicked by a giant toad? Hence the power of toad magic. In the folk tales his love interest, I believe, wields snail magic.

Member MarsHarmony Posted February 14, 2011 Member Share Posted February 14, 2011 Super stylized choreography gives a glimpse in to the world of 1920's theater and stage craft. The toad was pretty cool!
Member Michael L. Posted February 17, 2011 Author Member Share Posted February 17, 2011 I have seen worse monsters on Power Rangers than that toad... I will give you that!
