Got this from my local library and watched it last evening.

Did not know how this was going to be as I never heard much about it.

I was splendidly surprised at how really good this film was.

Great action with perfect CGI.

I highly recommend this right up there with my favorite kung fu movies.

That man, Dwayne Johnson is quite a specimen of muscle bound freak.

This is only from last year. And it's one of the worst (both critically and commercially) films of 2014...

As for the "great" CGI... Yeah, it's great - if your standard is The Asylum movies.

GHW............... I disagree.

DID you see the film....?

I do not care what the 'FN' critics say.. I.... Mikey..... liked it and that's all that counts...... for me.

It was great IMO.

Case Closed.

Nothing personal GHW.

And my good buddy also liked IT. So THERE................LOL My Man.

More power to you if you liked it bro, but it's clearly not my cup of tea.

(and no hard feelings)

I don't mean to be mean as well. I too saw it. I'm looking at my 2014 movie watch list (I keep track of my top/worst films of the year from 2008 on) and I rated it the second worst I saw of 2014 releases (released in the Theater in America or on BD/DVD in 2014 whichever comes first.) The worst I had was I, Frankenstein (2014: Stuart Beattie).

The movie was OK at best, but overall I do not like the direction from Brett Ratner. I'm a fan of Johnson and will watch anything he is in. Heck I've seen The Tooth Fairy twice.

Now the CGI was not good for a recent release. This was pretty evident in the beginning when the fantasy sequence came. That turn it made making it "realistic" as opposed to a fantasy film (like Troy which was partially based after Homer's The Illiad but avoids the supernatural aspect, now Troy was a better film than this.)

This is the first time I've come across this word. Thanks GD Y-Y! If I may say so, your vocabulary is truly...Herculean.
