Sleepy Eyes of Death Remastered?

I have Sleepy eyes 1-12.

1-7 are All versions with no menu's and they go straight into the fillm with Yellow or White Subtitles.

Not remastered!

I have a version of #8 Which is totally %100 re-mastered and it has menu's and everything (see screenshot)

what version is this? The DVD does not say. Where can i get 1-8 like this and are there versions of 9-12

that are released by the same company by any chance.

seod8.jpg #8

Where did 9, 10 11, 12 come from they are the Japanese Prints (trully remasterd) see screenshot.

the Greencine version of the film? Or merlins... If anyone has this series re-mastered 1-7 and 9-12

let me know. I will give you two for one. Contact 411 is above. (Im looking for the re-masters

only not the Animeigo VHS rips.) Does 1-7 remastered even exist yet?

<< Check with www.samuraidvd.com (Merlin), he's the RAIZO Ichikawa king fan-subber. >>

This person has a lot of great DVD'S but ive never seen someone try to sell them for $30.00 a shot.

It doesnt even include shipping. One dvd is $30? Lol sorry no way. I dont mean to knock the guy

really. I know that people like him that come and are able to get their hands on and go through

great lengths to re-master/subtitle these films are rare.... but on the same token i would not pay

that amount of money ever for any dvd. i really wish he would break down his prices. it would make

less people shy away and he would get more sales period. a lot of people overprice everything

because they really want to get a lot for it but they cant see past the reasoning of sell for less and

sell more. 4 Example the site Kurotokagi.com NOW even those DVD's are $15 each i do not mind

at all buying from them in fact ive been wanting to order from them for a while. In fact i want to

order from the before December. They are awesome and the prices are not outrageous.

If i hit a Soft spot on the forum sorry, i realize he's prob (merlin super guy) is probably an aquantaince

to some. Just wish his prices werent so up and and awayyyyyyyyyyy.

As for Sleepy eyes IF a remastered version of 1-7 exists and you have it let me know. Does a version

of Sleepy eyes of death 1-7 trully remastered even exist..? Again if you have them let me know i

posted a new topic in the trading section of the forum. thanks & by the way if you are interested in

trading e-mail is mysticliquids@gmail.com Are these remastered? Geneon,Pioneer,Japan versions 1-12.

Its like I said before I wish that one of the legit companies picked up this series and remastered it. But again not to get into anything with anyone, Merlin did finish the entire series for us Fans, and I'm glad he did because we wouldn't have it if he didn't.

Yeah a legit release would be cool, but you can always send Merlin $600 bucks for the set on dvdrs:rollin

And we would have these if he didn't do them, He,CK and Fareast aren't the only guys who do this stuff...I'm sure their sales are WAY down thanks to all the hard work of the fan-subbers who do it because of the love of the movies, not to make their pockets deep..Keep sending those guys your money for Hibari movies...We'll keep watching fan dubs of Fort of Death ect!!!!:lol

OK strutr74 here is my question to you,who else is subtitling these movies? You said other people are doing them if so lets have there link so we can order from them. If they in fact have movies subtitled that they didn't get from someone else. And what other movies do they have? I'm sure other people here besides myself would like to know. I'll support someone else also who subtitles movies that are rare & hard to find.

Well, seeing as I don't speak Japanese. I usually get my subs from old vhs or from the internet. I'm not about making money off my custom subs jobs. I upload my custom subs on a private dvd site for fans too enjoy. Thanks too all the members who uploads the R2J remasters.

Marquis de Falcon, your missing two extremely cool japanese films not on your list. Enjo (Ichikawa Raizo and Tatsuya Nakadai) and Inn Of Evil (Tatsuya Nakadai and Shintaro Katsu) both must haves for fans of these actors.

@ Dash, I can't really give you a link as quite a few people do the subs for All kinds of different films. As Venom said these aren't really coming from a vendor. Just fans doing the same thing that " Some" people charge money. @ vengeance , Just watched another amazing film Staring Nakadai, called BLACK RIVER. Another fan-subbed job. I think this is Nakadai's First Major Roll..Check it out if you can get ahold of a copy..

OK. i will look into those films... Thanks. As for Sleepy Eyes of Death my opinion is that i am impressed

to see the fans of these films and many others... subbing those movies for the fans for free and not

charging people for them. After all why would someone charge for this set in particular like merlin who

is selling an altered copy of the liscensed Japanese remastered versions of Sleepy Eyes of Death 1-12.

It would IMO --b one thing if he charge half price he is charging but oh well... In the end he will just lose

money. Still it cannot be said that what he did & does is not go entirely unnapreciated. Thanks guys, to

be honest if it werent for people like Daisho2004 and others who are very enthusiastic about Japanese

movies i would never have looked into it. Now i find myself in the midst of trully great filmaking... again

sure but like never before.

Japanese films i love them because they are very eclectic, they are also very spirited and totally unique.

To top it off the stories are most often highly intriquing and that is to say nothing about the fashion the

men and woman wore of that time. The Japanese go down as the best dressed in history of civilization

only third to the egyptians and the Victorian era in europe.

Listen I don't like to get into debates with anyone over subtitling movies but as far as Merlin goes. He did all the subtitling for the rest of this series. And a lot of work goes into this Merlin for his prices ect. aside from the fact it takes 15 hours just to subtitle a 90 min film, not to mention hiring translators ect ,people can get all his films for 20 bucks by subscribing to his newsletter. And again Merlin has subtitled movies that we would never see released by any major company. And while I'm glad that there are new people who want to helpout and put out movies for free that is great. But I do have to praise Merlin for all his work. And to be honest most people buy his movies copy them and sell them on eBay as well as start there own Japanese sites and that is the truth, because as soon as Merlin has a new title it appears on there site the next week.

So like I said I don't want to start the whole scav. bootlegg business again.

Hey you're right Dash, no need to get into it about the subs and crap..Keep thinking it takes 1,000 of $ to hire and hours to sub dvds...Damn me an Venom are really good then as well, transcribed Nemuri # 7 in about 2 hours last night...LOL

I'll have 6 done later tonight...Total cost $0 Time Taken- 2 hours

not to take Credit from Merlin, He does a great job and has some nice movies..Over priced, yeah!!! Rare, about 10% as most come from Region 2 dvds or tv. Any average guy with old vhs/ld or TV tapes and basic com skills can do the same thing..Very Easy to do!!! Hell go to kloofy, and sub a few yourself...Save your money

It's a massive job to transcribe, correct/edit, have missing lines etc translated, refine and re-time a movie script in SSA. Anyone who tried it, knows. Not saying it takes 1000 of hours. It's not very hard or complicated, but, very time consuming. And even more time consuming if it's a brand new script which have to be adapted from Jingrish to correct English. That's all, and that's why we don't see more people doing it.

The "1000 of" was probably more like a generalization, meant to tell us how much time and money Merlin/CK spend doing this kind of work, year after year.

Anyway, more fan-subbers, more re-mastered samurai stuff for us. And with the few cool legit companies like BCI, AnimEigo and Criterion around, even more goodies for us. My only wish is that they would do more stuff that has never been seen with subs before. Like old Daiei, Nikkatsu and Toho stuff. That would be ultra awesome.

Strut, if it's for the "fans" as you claim, why can't you share the link with Daisho??

Because Venom already posted a link.

They're not for sale so there is no link " to buy" these,yet..Until some poor sap gets copies and puts them on ebay. Thats the nature of the game tho.

Venom made them so contact him on how to get copies.
