Member ShawAngela Posted February 9, 2015 Member Share Posted February 9, 2015 ***SPOILERS*** Meng Fei plays Wang Kang, a man who is married to his shifu's daughter (Beardy). The day she tells him that she is pregnant, he goes to the town in order to sell wool and he meets there the innkeeper, Min Er, who seems to have been a former lover of his. While he is away, a group of bandits arrives at his home. The chief of the bandits wants to get revenge on Beardy for a scar he got from him 10 years ago, but Beardy's daughter tells him that her father is dead and he let his men rape and kill her. When Meng Fei arrives, he is attacked by the men and savagely hit and hurt by them. They let him tied on a tree for the night. During his half unconsciousness, he remembers his shifu's teaching and he succeeds in escaping and goes to the town, where he is helped and hidden by Min Er and her mute daughter. When they realize that he has escaped, the bandits look for him and follow his traces and discover that he is in the town. Then , they come at night and tell the villagers that they will be killed if they help their target and a lot of people leave the town on the following morning. When the bandits come to the town, they take the remaining people as prisoners and they go on robbing the nomads while they are waiting for Wang Kang to show himself. Before the bandits' arrival, Min Er and her daughter have hidden Wang Kang in a desertic place where he recovers from his wounds and trains in order to take revenge for his wife. When he learns that the bandits want to kill the prisoners, he goes to the town at night and kills some of them together with their chief, but before he dies, this latter asks his lieutenants to ask his elder brother to take revenge for him. When the elder brother arrives, we discover that he was Min Er's former lover (or maybe he had forced her, it's not explained, unless it's said in the dialogues) and he wants to be her " husband " once again. When she sees that he's forcing her mother, the litte girl tries to hit him and, in order to protect her daughter, Min Er does what he wants. As no one in the village knows where Wang Kang is and as he has understood that Min Er is protecting him, the bandit takes Min Er's daughter as hostage and he tortures her, but Min Er tells him that he can't do that because she is his daughter, but he doesn't believe her and just when she says that she is going to tell him where Wang Kang is, this latter appears and fights with the bandit's men and exhort the villagers to rebel against the bandits and a big fight occurs. Wang Kang and the bandit fight hardly and Wang Kang is hurt and when the bandit is about to kill him, it's Min Er who kills him, telling him that she had warned him to avoid doing harm to her daughter. The movie ends with Meng Fei saying goodbye to Min Er and her daughter, who are both very sad to see him going away. ***END OF SPOILERS*** Superb non stop action movie, and Meng Fei is excellent in this role. If you are going to post complete plot descriptions though, could you please put a 'SPOILERS' warning beforehand, so that anyone who hasn't seen the movie can check it out not knowing how everything goes down.
