Member Killer Meteor Posted January 6, 2015 Member Share Posted January 6, 2015 Is there any record to record how these two old school actors came to be recruited for the Bond film? It's interesting that EON didn't tap Shaws or Golden Harvest for talent (and both HK actors are in scenes mainly set in Thailand) so were they chosen by Guy Hamilton or was there a HK studio/producer involved?
Member Cognoscente Posted June 15, 2021 Member Share Posted June 15, 2021 I tried to find out more with a Google search... 陳耀林 (Chan Yiu-Lam) 元秋 (Yuen Qiu) 之金枪人 (Golden Gun Man) ...but nothing substantial come up - not even on the Baidu page. There is one thing that caught my attention: Jack Palance turned down the chance to play Scaramanga but didn't mind doing that kinky snake movie in Hong Kong (which I posted in James Tien's thread since it's so rare).

Whatever his reasons I'm glad he did as Christopher Lee was brilliant in that role, probably my favourite Bond villain.
