1. I don’t have a favorite but The Avenging Eagle and 36th Chamber are definitely up there.

2. Monkey Style. Full of energy and acrobatics, looks awesome!

3. Another tough one. A tie between Lo Lieh as Pai Mei and Ku Feng from The Avenging Eagle.

4. For Shaw Bros, Gordon Liu as San Te. For any kung fu movie, Bruce Lee as Chen Zhen.

5. Kara Hui from Eight Pole Diagram Fighter.

5. Kara Hui from Eight Pole Diagram Fighter.

And my young auntie...While shaws made most quality k-f movies for special fight style like drunken, snake or eagle better look into indie products. My fav shaw movie is masked avengers if not from vault superior weapon fest surfaces.

1. Really hard to choose one, but I'll go with King Boxer..

2. Hung Fist

3. Lo Lieh as Chun Fang from Human Lanterns.

4. Chen Kuan Tai as Hung Si Kuan, Heroes Two, pure badass! Gordon as San Te close second.

5. Ivy Ling Po, 14 Amazons!

I agree with Tex Killer that indies do a better job of animal styles. Outside of Monkey Kung Fu, which is about the least Shaw-like Shaw martial arts film ever made, bar Martial Arts of Shaolin, lol.

1) Heroic ones ex aequo with Have sword will travel

2) Tiger style

3) Ku Feng, Lo Lieh and Wang Lung Wei ex aequo

4) David Chiang ex aequo with Ti Lung for the Shaw Brothers ; Adam Cheng for the series

5) Lily Li for the Shaws and Shan Kuan Ling Fung ex aequo with Angela Mao, Cheung Ching Ching, Sun Chia Lin, Lee Shu and Chia Ling for the other movies

I have to think on the others but no doubt my favorite fighting style is 'The Toilet Style' as demonstrated by Wong Yue in 'The Proud Youth'.

1. The Lady Assassin - favorite Film

2. Toilet Style

3. Chan Shen in anything he is a villan in

4. Northern Beggar

5. Betty Pei Ti in Intimate Confessions....

Secret Executioner

My picks (so far, since I still have A LOT to watch)

1 - Disciples Of Shaolin

2 - hard to say, especially if we're on a SB basis - Fu Sheng's Hung style from the Shaolin Cycle is one I dig, but I also enjoy the styles seen in Invincible Shaolin (especially the Palm technique used by Lu Feng and Chiang Sheng's acrobatic, staff-based style)

3 - hard to say, maybe the guy who orders the burning of the Temple in Men From The Monastery - I remember finding him quite threatening.

4 - Fu Sheng in Men From The Monastery, Gordon Liu in 36th Chamber Of Shaolin

5 - Ivy Ling Po in The 14 Amazons

And my young auntie...

Agreed.

2. Toilet Style

Haven't seen The Proud Youth, but when I saw Toilet Style, I immediately thought of the scene from The Prodigal Son when Sammo teaches Yuen Biao. Classic.

It's hard to answer these questions based only around Shaw Bros movies. These are my answers for non-Shaw Bros movies...

2. Still Monkey Style.

3. Hwang Jang Lee in anything, and Hwang Jang Lee in Dragon Lord.

4. Bruce Lee as Chen Zhen (as mentioned earlier).

5. Polly Kuan in anything.

Extremely hard to choose 1 for each but I'll give it a go. Shaw Bros answers only...

01 - 8 Diagram Pole Fighter

02 - Mantis Style

03 - Pai Mei

04 - Gordon Liu in 36th Chamber Of Shaolin

05 - Kara Hui from My Young Auntie.

1. Return of the Sentimental Swordsman

I could have picked this also, as well as Killer Clans like Drunken Arts has picked.

Either of the 3 would work for me. As well as 100 others.

That was the toughest choice!

I watched The Prodigal Son after this mention & I really liked it, thank you!

Lam Ching-ying was great & I never realized how good he is, having not seen much

(a few though) of his.

I was kidding about the toilet style though (maybe )

I think this is my favorite style. The dub calls it 'Lohan Buddha Boxing', or '18 Lohan fist' or whatever. (This guy is really good - 5 Superfighters & A Deadly Secret are other good roles for him)

So true! The only thing I can say negative about Kwok is that I feel he overacts often..Still probably my favorite venom though.

I have always felt that Chiang Sheng was the best actor of the venoms.

I wont make it easy for yall :xd: , as theres no such thing as a "favorite something" to me here.

Way too many options plus every few years and with each revisitation of a movie, things tend to shift and change a bit.

Here`s as close as it gets atm:

1. I`d either go with "any of my top 3 Sun Chung flicks"

OR i`d go with either "Shaolin Prince" (one of my fave 80s SB gems), "Magic Blade" (one of my 70s faves) or maybe "Devils Mirror" representing the late 60s/early 70s era...oh wait, thats Sun Chung all over again.

2. Thats easy: Diversity Gung.

Dont u just love this fairground of (after all, most times its "television-fu-technique") different styles (pitting against each other) !?!?!

I love Tiger & Crane Fist and Mantis Style first and foremost.

Monkey is hands down one of the flashiest techniques and wicked fun to watch but it can get a lil tiresome, then annoying (if consumed in large quantities and without diversity -> see above). Also get huge kicks out of (a few select) Snake Style moves.

3. I go with anything Ku Feng.

4. Long term... possibly CKT in one of his heroic roles (hell, how would i know, cant just rewatch some 30 heroic CKT performances on the spot to really make up my mind here ).

5. Anything Kara Hui..... or Li Ching in Vengeance of a Snow Girl

From what I gather, the 5 questions may look something like this regarding Shaw Brothers:

1. Favorite film

2. Favorite or best Kung-fu style

3. Best villain

4. Favorite Shaw actor

5. Favorite Shaw actress.

2.  Technique/style in a Shaws Film

3. Favorite villainous role in film.

4. Favorite actor and what role/character from what film.

5. Favorite actress in a Shaws film & from what film.

Thanks!! :)

1.  Avenging Eagle

2. Hung Gar (36th Chamber of Shaolin)

3. Ma Fu Yee played by Wang Lung Wei (Shaolin Temple 1976)

4. Ti Lung as Black Eagle Chi Min-Sing (Avenging Eagle)

5. Nora Miao Ke Xiu as Gong Nan Yan (Clans of Intrigue)....I actually liked her look in Bruce Lee's films but those are Golden Harvest.
