Member AlbertV Posted November 25, 2014 Member Share Posted November 25, 2014 The next X-Men film has a set release date of May 27, 2016. Simon Kinberg is currently writing the script, which will be set in the 1980's (First Class was 1960's, Days of Future Past present and 1970's). Bryan Singer is directing again and he promises "more destruction than ever before". James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and others from the last two are expected to return. Oscar Isaac, who recently wrapped up Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has signed yesterday to play the titular villain Apocalypse.

Member yojimbo Posted February 18, 2015 Member Share Posted February 18, 2015 Is this movie going to feature the classic New X-Men team ? Like... The one from the late 1970s ? Not sure. Seems like they are trying to go back to the beginning and not quite the 1970's Uncanny X-men. Although the Dark Phoenix saga, battle against the Shi'ar Empire and fight with the Hellfire Club would make for some interesting stuff. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan said they are not in the new movie. Supposedly Hugh Jackman was almost going to be booted as Wolverine in the X-men series. This might be the last one for him. They keep brining him back but I am sure it is getting more and more expensive each time and despite looking more buff then when he started as Wolverine he is aging. He was stunned when during the interview for his new movie Chappie, he was told that Sony ok-ed the Spiderman loan back to Marvel. Which is something he's been wanting Wolverine to be able to do. Maybe he should consider playing some other character for Marvel.
