On October 8, DirectTV's original series, Kingdom, premieres. It is a MMA drama starring Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Kiele Sanchez, and Nick Jonas...yes, THAT Nick Jonas.

The story revolves around Grillo's MMA coach and his brood. Sanchez plays his current girlfriend. Jonas plays his younger son Nate, who is an up-and-comer MMA fighter. Jonathan Tucker plays Grillo's older son, who had the potential but lost it all. Joanna Going plays Grillo's ex-wife, who is a drug addict.

This will only be on DirectTV until a DVD release date?

If you haven't checked it out, this is one of the best dramas on TV from the US in a long, long time. And Nick Jonas does a fantastic job on the show. Jonathan Tucker sort of consumes every scene he is in. Just an amazing story and much closer to what you would expect in terms of a lifestyle of violence and competition then say a Wong Fei Hung movie. Great fight scenes and super realistic. But be warned, some very grim subject matter, lots of nudity and profanity and enough F bombs to compete with a Scorsese movie. FANTASTIC show. 5 stars.
