He will be playing John Rain, a Japanese-American assassin skilled at making his targets look like they died naturally but just has a rough time with personal relationships. The character is based on a series of books by Barry Eisler. Japanese actor Kippei Shiina played the role in the film RAIN FALL, co-starring Gary Oldman. In addition to Reeves, Barry Eisler, David Leitch, and Chad Stahelski will be executive producers on the series. Leitch and Stahelski, the founders of the 87Eleven Stunt Team, directed Reeves' upcoming film JOHN WICK. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

"I think 'Rain' is kind of on hold right now," Chad Stahelski said. "It deals with Keanu's schedule... He's a busy guy and he's in love with the 'Wick' franchise, so he wants to put his time and energy into that." Reeves is "kind of vested into 'John Wick' - at least for the series and No. 3 of 'John Wick' And if he chooses to afterwards, there's always 'Rain'."
