Member AlbertV Posted July 23, 2014 Member Share Posted July 23, 2014 Yes, I know it's only July, but I thought I'd get a bit of a headstart and get a list going of martial arts action films due for release in 2015. SPL II: A TIME FOR CONSEQUENCES - prequel to the 2005 Donnie Yen-starrer combines the talents of Wu Jing and Tony Jaa in the prison-set action film. Co-starring Louis Koo and Max Zhang as the film's antagonists. KICKBOXER - Stephen Fung's remake of the 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme film, starring stuntman Alain Moussi in his first lead role. Co-starring Georges St. Pierre as Moussi's brother and Dave Bautista as the villain. Tony Jaa is currently in negotiations to play the role originated by Dennis Chan, Xian Chow. CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON II: THE GREEN DESTINY - based on the final book in the Iron-Crane Pentalogy, Michelle Yeoh is returning as Yu Shu Lien with Donnie Yen taking the male lead role of Silver Wolf. Co-starring Nicholas Tse. SKIN TRADE: Dolph Lundgren's NYC detective teams up with Thai cop Tony Jaa to take down a human trafficking ring led by the man who killed Lundgren's family. Co-starring Michael Jai White, Ron Perlman, and Peter Weller. BIG MATCH: Korean star Lee Jung-Jae plays a MMA fighter who is forced to play a deadly game against various thugs in the city when his brother is kidnapped by a game-loving mastermind. Co-starring Shin Ha-Kyun and K-Pop star BoA in her film debut. This one still may come out in 2014 but haven't heard anything yet POWER RANGERS - What was thought to be a reboot of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is now more of a continuation with Star Trek writer Roberto Orci and PR creator Haim Saban serving as executive producers. The script is currently being written. THE MARTIAL ARTS KID - Don "The Dragon" Wilson and Cynthia Rothrock play a couple who take in their troubled nephew, played by Jansen Panettiere, and teach him martial arts after he is bullied. Co-starring a cast full of martial arts champions and legends, from T.J. Storm and Matthew Ziff to Nassim "Young Dragon" Lahrizi and Olando "The Warrior" Rivera. TO BE THE BEST: THE ROAD BACK: A sequel to the 1993 PM Entertainment tournament film which will bring back Michael Worth and Martin Kove, this time adding Sasha Mitchell and newcomer Steven Dell. Art Camacho co-stars, directs, and choreographs the film's action sequences. UNDERDOG KIDS: Phillip Rhee returns to martial arts films with a family film that melds "The Bad News Bears" and "The Karate Kid". Co-starring Beau Bridges, Mirelly Taylor, Adam Irigoyen, Ryan Potter, and martial arts champion Rayna Valladingham. Special cameo from martial arts legends Dan Inosanto, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Richard Norton, Jun Chong, and Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. Member NoKUNGFUforYU Posted July 23, 2014 Member Share Posted July 23, 2014 All I can say is after Badges of Fury and the Monkey King is, don't get your hopes up- CGI, undercranking and wires, along with a succession of smirks from Mainland Chinese model "singer" "actors". We have plenty of the same in the USA, so don't take it the wrong way, Selena Gomez, the cast of True Blood, etc. Whatever happened to talent and hard work? Member AlbertV Posted July 24, 2014 Author Member Share Posted July 24, 2014 Actually, RUROUNI KENSHIN: KYOTO INFERNO is coming out August 1 in Japan and RUROUNI KENSHIN: THE LEGEND ENDS is coming out September 13 in Japan. The U.S. still hasn't gotten the original RUROUNI KENSHIN released yet, so that may come in 2015? FALCON RISING is coming out September 5, this was confirmed by Michael Jai White himself on his FB page.

I never know when anything is coming out If we don't that would be a good idea to have one. Especially with some films taking years to come out, you can't help but forget some of the more promising looking ones.
