Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted June 29, 2014 Moderator Share Posted June 29, 2014 One of the summer seasons most anticipated movies in Korea, 'Sea Fog' is produced by Bong Joon-ho and will mark the directorial debut of his 'Memories of Murder' screenwriter Sim Seong-bo. Based on an actual incident that took place in 2001, in which dozens of ethnic Korean-Chinese attempted to smuggle themselves into South Korea, only for them to suffocate inside the very ship which was expected to deliver them, the movie stars Kim Yoon-seok ('The Thieves', 'The Chaser'). Moderator One Armed Boxer Posted July 16, 2014 Author Moderator Share Posted July 16, 2014 I've been looking forward to this for a while. Kim Yoon-seok is the man! Agreed! He looks to be a channeling a little of his 'Yellow Sea' look here as well. I posted a short biography of him for last years Korean Film Festival in Australia, which you can check out here - http://koreanfilmfestivalinaustralia.blogspot.com.au/2013/08/kim-yoon-seok-everyman-anti-hero.html

In the meantime, Twitch have posted an interview with producer Bong Joon-ho, which acts as a nice companion piece to their earlier interview with director Shim Sung-bo. Member whitesnake Posted February 9, 2018 Member Share Posted February 9, 2018 A region 1 DVD (not on Blu-ray) of Sea Fog is available on Amazon.com. Apparently it was released legit in North America by Film Movement ("a North American distributor of award-winning independent and foreign films based in New York") back in August of 2016. I wasn't familiar with Film Movement, but it does have other Asian films available, including The Drummer (set in Taiwan), Key of Life (Japanese), Hospitalite (Japanese), Ilo Ilo (set in Singapore), Boiling Point (directed by Takeshi Kitano), In Love We Trust (Chinese), My Love, Don't Cross That River (South Korean), Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow (Taiwanese), available on DVD on Amazon.com. Film Movement website - https://www.filmmovement.com/filmcatalog/ by title, genre, country, director, and some titles are on Blu-ray.
