Administrator KUNG FU BOB Posted May 8, 2014 Administrator Share Posted May 8, 2014 A classic that immortalized a very unique period in time. The odds of Hopper (and company) being able to create a coherent film while under the influence of so many drugs is nothing short of a cinematic miracle. I adore this film, and it's soundtrack (which created the model for many soundtracks that came after). Rest in peace Dennis, you beautiful, crazy, freak-flag waving SOB. Ride easy forever more brother.
Member mpm74 Posted May 8, 2014 Member Share Posted May 8, 2014 It's the movie that cost George Lazenby his 007 career. =D "Easy Rider was the No. 1 movie. Everyone was smoking marijuana, and that was the furthest thing from a James Bond movie. So I didn’t sign the contract. I was badly treated after that. They told the press that I was difficult to handle, so it was hard to find work.” - George Lazenby
Member Coliseum1972 Posted June 2, 2014 Author Member Share Posted June 2, 2014 You have to take the time period in perspective : Bond WAS considered passe by late 60s and many prolly thought 007 would go belly up in the 70s.
Member mpm74 Posted June 3, 2014 Member Share Posted June 3, 2014 Wrongfully considered you mean. Every Bond flick made money, and then some.
Member Coliseum1972 Posted June 6, 2014 Author Member Share Posted June 6, 2014 But no one could've predicted they would make 'em for 50+ yrs "Everyone did weed" Not true , afaik Burt Ward never messed with that stuff....he prolly didn't drink either. That's just an excuse to goof off , "if they do it , so must I !" lol
