Member TheKungFuRobber Posted April 12, 2014 Member Share Posted April 12, 2014 Hello KFC, I have been looking everywhere for a subtitled Korean version of the film "Tower of Death". The Korean version omits as much of the Bruce Lee footage as possible, has more footage of Hwang Jang Lee and Kim Tai Jung and a different plot. If anyone could find anything I would be extremely grateful, even just a link to 240p VHS transfer would be fine.

Tried to find it for you and fell short. Various parts of it kicking around on youtube (nunchaka scene etc)

Member BlurayStation3 Posted April 13, 2014 Member Share Posted April 13, 2014 I got a dvd-r of it from flk awhile ago but it doesn't have subtitles. It seems now they have a version with English subtitles. I don't think I would trust buying from them again though. They sent me a non-working disc at first then I had to sent it back. Then they sent me a working disc, but the disc was heavily scratched up...

I would be extremely grateful if you could.
Member Chinatown Kid Posted April 14, 2014 Member Share Posted April 14, 2014 What's considered the best version? I have the Chinese version(Tower of Death) and the US version Game of Death II. I prefer the US version because of the English dubbing and the Greenhouse fight between Kim and Cassanova Wong. Member BlurayStation3 Posted April 14, 2014 Member Share Posted April 14, 2014 I did rip/convert it to my hdd back then. I'll see about uploading to a filehosting site. I prefer the HK/Korean versions over the international version. I like the Asian music better and didn't care for the padded out childhood footage in the international cut.

I also prefer the H.K. versions. The international cut is a mess in my opinion, mainly because I hate English dubbing. The version on my Hong Kong Legends DVD is the Hong Kong version with an option to play the English dub from the international version, but cut to fit the visuals of the Hong Kong version. It also has all of the extra scenes in the international cut as a special feature.

Member BlurayStation3 Posted April 17, 2014 Member Share Posted April 17, 2014 Here it is. I ripped/converted it to avi format and fixed it to the proper 4:3 aspect ratio (they stretched the picture and sold it as "widescreen"). I recommend using vlc player to play it since windows media player still stretches the picture for some reason. I tried splitting the rar into larger parts but my upload speed is low and it kept stopping partially through, so I had to split it into 14 smaller parts. part 1: https://www.firedrive.com/file/5777E916E69007DB part 2: https://www.firedrive.com/file/DB33AB28746AE8A3 part 3: https://www.firedrive.com/file/A291339F9E81C776 part 4: https://www.firedrive.com/file/2C05D5EB67935000 part 5: https://www.firedrive.com/file/D7A72B140CEEDF97 part 6: https://www.firedrive.com/file/225F79EA7B781B80 part 7: https://www.firedrive.com/file/A3671ED17FE46D13 part 8: https://www.firedrive.com/file/3D435D573781A2F2 part 9: https://www.firedrive.com/file/873B2B9B92890516 part 10: https://www.firedrive.com/file/7D5F55AABA6484FE part 11: https://www.firedrive.com/file/E5B425C5DF5CF42E part 12: https://www.firedrive.com/file/03FB53A0BE8B64B7 part 13: https://www.firedrive.com/file/217AC4617FC00EDA part 14: https://www.firedrive.com/file/A55CC6251BE3E540 I tried making a custom dvd-r of it but windows dvd maker, windows movie maker, roxio, muvee couldn't recognize it.

Member Chinatown Kid Posted April 19, 2014 Member Share Posted April 19, 2014 How come he didn't use the Nunchuka? was it cut? I don't understand why they would cut any of the action, doesn't make sense.
Member Coliseum1972 Posted April 19, 2014 Member Share Posted April 19, 2014 You think U.K was bad with nunchucks......well , let me tell ya martial arts films were banned altogether in Scandinavia (Norway , Sweden , Finland)
Member Chinatown Kid Posted April 19, 2014 Member Share Posted April 19, 2014 I forgot about how funny the British were about the chucks, did they ban the showing of other weapons like the knife or gun or tonfa? I mean why pick on the nunchucks exclusively?
Member newgen2005 Posted April 19, 2014 Member Share Posted April 19, 2014 I don't understand why they would cut any of the action, doesn't make sense. So you think it has been cut then? Is that scene in the HK version?...I am not really familiar with the film.
Member Chinatown Kid Posted April 19, 2014 Member Share Posted April 19, 2014 Well I own the US version, the Chinese version and the HKL version and none of them feature Kim Tai Chung using the nunchuck. I have never seen the Korean version so don't know about that one.
