Taken from the this interview with JohnnyRay Gasco, which I recenlty posted in the Classic Martial Arts Cinema forum.

Johnny Ray Gasca was another one like George Tan (only he used the camcorders in theaters bit) and he actually served time for piracy. And the the trouble has kept going for him...

I've jumped down this George Tan/Toby Russell rabbithole and from what I can gather they seem to run Wu Tang Connection, Golden Media Group and IFD. On IFD's website there's a bunch of films listed on there I'm 99.9% sure they don't own like the Australian films Patrick and Turkey Shoot. Wu Tang and Golden Media YouTube channels just upload a bunch of movies they clearly don't own.

A short time later I learned of J.A.R.S. Video Collectables that was owned by Joe Ragus.  He was awesome to deal with.  No bullshit with this guy and had a HUGE collection of kung fu flicks.  He was an awesome dude.  Too bad I never learned of him before Dragon Video.

That's a name I haven't heard since the 1990's. Agreed on everything above on Joe. I was friendly with him back then and credit him for launching my martial arts movie interest. Does anyone know if Joe is still around or what he is doing?

Like you, I haven't heard from Joseph in years or know what he is doing now. A few years back someone told me that he moves out of NY, not sure if that is accurate or not.

I used to own/have one of his catalogs that I would use for reference or order from.

Joe had moved to PA from NY and it’s sad he passed. He was a great person to talk to and he liked wrestling, comics, and other things besides just films. I feel bad I lost touch with him but this was before texting and cell phones
